Yeah, that's the Lone Drow alright. and it is definitely worth buying imo. Salvatore's best Drizzt book since the Dark Elf trilogy.

A question about the Homeland story. Drizzt was explaining his life to Belwar and mentions Lolth. The text I had says that Belwar did not recognise the deity Lolth but understood that Drizzt was refering to [sic] Lolth but can understand that there was regional differences in deity names. I was confused since it seems to be an error. What do the svirfneblin call Lolth then? Lloth? Can anyone say what.

It has been an easy read so far. Nothing major but its quite good. Only thing that I don't like is the constant discussion of Drizzt's 'principles'. He doesn't really have them spelt out and I can't see how he would have learnt his new principles since his only experiences were in Drowland and...and...and...

Just read and enjoy the book!

Yes, the Lolth/Lloth thing was a printing error initially that got covered up with a plausible excuse later. Just ignore it.

I knew about the Lloth and Lolth 'error' but what I meant was, what would the word be that the svirfneblin would use, since the text has the same word without variation. Just curious. Finished the book. Wasn't bad really...

I recomend the War of the Spiderqueen books as mant before have done, Have read up until 3 or 4 and loved them.

About Drizzt, read the first thre books (Homeland, Sojurn, Exile) and avoid the rest unless you have read everything else and just need some standard clichee paperweights to scour through quick.

I liked Elaine cunningham's books, but as is the case with Drizzt books, most of them happens on the surface, kinda works against "drow characters" in my opinion :)

Obviously WotSQ is the best serires to view drow in general. Drizzt and Liriel are basically splintered drow.

Is there a follow on to Homeland, Exile and Sojourn?

I mean, having looked at the books, the next series seems to be Legacy of the Drow which seems to jump from just getting to know Bruenor (sp) to being his best mate and seeing Wulfgar and that girl getting married.

Basically, have I missed a series of books anywhere?

Actually, the Icewind Dale trilogy was written before the Dark Elf Trilogy, but the common reading order today is Dark Elf first, then Icewind Dale, and then the rest. This is how it is also listed on SP at http://www.sorcerers.net/Books/index_fr.php

Ah now I know why I'm confused. I thought the reading order was ment to be as it was shown in the book

which was Icewind dale first and then Drizzt appearing next

As you can probably tell, I havn't read The Icewind Dale trilogy
