[IMG] I need to know how to make new "StringRef" numbers that are unused so I can use them for my items on the modding program 'Near Infinity'.. I can't quite figure out how to do it. Help me out? I'm trying to work on equipment for an npc I plan to make-- he'll be a wild mage with unique robes that have a minor AC bonus as well as constant "blur". He's a planeshifter, and I felt that would add a cool effect.

If you're wanting to do that, the best way is to learn WeiDU and then assign strings upon installation. http://www.WeiDU.org

Example code you might want, taken from a mod of mine, is:

The reason I advise WeiDU over NI for this is it makes changes easy to uninstall, and it is necessary to do it this way if you ever want to distribute the mod to others.

[Nothing in that code that'd need the code tags, so I replaced it with the quote tag so it doesn't break the layout.] -Tal

Yeh, editing was fine. I guess it was the lack of word wrap in my text editor made it a little wide when I copy-pasted. ;)

Ardanis: Don't use word-wrap, though, when you make your items. The game automatically wraps text to fit the boxes so if you put in extra line breaks it could make it look messy. The point I was trying to get across in my post was use of the COPY and SAY-type tp2 actions.

I really don't know where to start. This page seems to just have mods made with the program. Where do I start?
