[IMG] David Gaider, one of the BioWare developers of the Baldur's Gate II: SoA and ToB, has created a lot of "unofficial" materials for the games.

He created four patches: one for SoA, one for improved dialogue text, one to prepare for installation of ToB and one for ToB itself.

I just ran Norton Anti-Virus 2002, and it marked these four files as being infected with the "IRC.Mimic" virus. I'm not very technical, and I don't understand the mechanics of viruses. Is there anyone out there who might be able to offer a reason why these files get flagged by Norton other than being infected. I find it very hard to believe that a BioWare developer would put out a virus.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

[IMG] Update your virus definitions. It's a false positive, a bug in the Norton software. It's supposed to have been fixed already, though.

[IMG] Taluntain was correct in the previous posting. I ran and re-ran Norton Virus Scan, and it didn't come up with any problems at all with those files.

Please forgive my setting off the "virus alarm," and I apologize to David Gaider for casting aspersions on his work. Thanks to Taluntain for setting things straight.

[IMG] I'm not sure which one's he's talking about, but all of the unofficial stuff from Gaider is on SP, on page 2 of the Editors, Hacks & Custom Chars subsection. Unless he made some stuff I don't know about...
