[IMG] Ive just completed the game for the first time as an chaotic Good Wizard Slayer, which was cool. I want to start again and play the game as an evil char with an evil party. I was wondering is anybody any tips on how to play the game as an evil guy, and on what tip of Class i should be?

Be anything you want but kill lots of people. Any quest that you can do an evil way, do it.

Try and assassin. They are evil. I don't know why the the people that made the game let good charaters be assassins.

Tip huh? Ok, stick the good guys with the *pointy* end of the sword. Works better that way. ;) :p

But seriously. For class, I'd be a fighter type, most definately. I'd recommend putting you proficiency points in either two-handed swords or longswords, and at least a blunt weapon, and a ranged weapon. Also, fighter-mage works real well, if you don't mind foregoing armor. I've heard a lot of people use Monks, so you can try that too. Above all, pick somebody who is good at melee.

As for parties, try this on for size:

    You (fighter, fighter-mage, or monk)
    Korgan (Berserker, must have)
    Viconia (Cleric, must have)
    Edwin (Conjurer, must have)
    Jan (Illusionist/Thief, must have)
Haer'dalis (Bard, optional but highly recommended for extra fighting skills and magic punch)
Sixth Slot: if you've played ToB, you know who should go in here, but I won't spoil it for the others. Hint: name starts with an S :) Or, you can stick Yoshimo in here, but only up to Chapter 4. You know why ;)

This party is a trifle weaker than a good-aligned party, due to the lack of evil or chaotic-neutral NPC's, but if you're looking for a challenge give this party a try.

  4. TIP: Don't let your conscience get in the way.
I started as an evil character, but didn't have the heart to do it for about the first 3 minutes.

I suggest a druid for the 6th slot.

Just one thing; Anomen is a good choice for evil parties as he is, shall we say, impressionable (without giving any spoilers) and hes a decent cleric who can cave a skull when he has to.

    Tip:

Cure yourself of any lingering powergaming instincts in a hurry. I found that choosing an evil path would significantly reduce the XP/Reward given by many quests. You must be prepared to face the consequences of you actions. (This may not be a problem for you, but for many, it is.

In order to fit your evil logo, you might gotta surpass some small quests and cut xp you recieved. But in other way, your behaviour could be more flexible, you get what you want to get. Just remember, to reach your destination there's still a long long way to go yet, xp should be hardly a concern.:)

As for the mace of disruption:
You can get the mace it right after getting your stronghold - just go to the bloodpool and get it. Then do the illithium quest and go to cromwell ;)

How about do the opposite of your first guy. A Lawful evil mage. Only problem is that being evil, you'll probably have Edwin in the party anyway, and he's a better LE mage than a PC could be. Then again, there's no harm in having two...

Here's a way to role-play an evil character but still complete all the quests as a power-gamer: play the part of a greedy mercenary (ala Glen Cook's the Black Company series, read the parts involving Mogaba if you don't know how to do this)

When you are initiating a quest, always, ALWAYS, ask about the reward, but never mention Imoen. When you complete the quest, and are talking to the initiator, always, ALWAYS, say something to the effect of "Yeah, yeah, yeah, now show me the money."
Always, ALWAYS, be in it for the money. This especially fits in in Trademeet. Kill Firkraag, just so you can sell Carsomyr. Why? For the money of course. When your reputation gets too high, just kill some random out-of-the-way merchant and say he was cheating you. Also, whenever you are ready to rest at an inn, take some time to drink yourself into a drunken stupor. All around, try to be as grubby, greedy, unpleasant, foul-mouthed, and untrustworthy as possible. Don't be afraid to betray your employer if someone else offers more cash.

Now this is not exactly the cod, cookie-cutter dispicable Darklord-type evil that most D&D players are used to, but still your character is far from good. It helps if you play either a Neutral-Evil alignment. Also, playing this way fits in with the NPC's found most often in an evil party. Korgan is most definately a mercenary. Edwin is most definately a mercenary. Viconia is not a mercenary, but she gives the impression of being out for herself, most definately a mercenary concept.

Just give it a try. You'll have fun, I guarantee it.
