Bug on Dungeon Level 4?

    Hey folks,

    My crew has made its way down to dungeon level 4. My rogue/wizard is scouting ahead wearing his ring of inviability. He's slipped passed a bunch of greater temple bugbear guards, ettins, the high priest and I believe a pair of wizards. Now, in some sort of strang great hall, he's discovered 4 jeweled chests with much gold and platnum within. Along withthe gold in 3 out of the 4 chests, he's found magic items.

    In the firts chest, all the way at the "bottom" of the screen (or on the left) he opened it after disarming a trap and picking a lock, and along with the cash, a wand of some sort. I collected it, and a second later my pc crashed. It appeared to be a wand of lightning, but I cant be sure. I booted the game back up, and no wand was to be found - on my person, around the chest, and not inside it either.

    The second chest had a blue tipped wand. Also, after takinig the cash, when I went to retrieve the wand, my PC crashed. When I booted back up again, I did find the wand in the chest, and agin when attempting to retrieve it, my pc crashed. I let it be afte r that.

    In the last chest I found a magic rope, but again, while attempting to retrieve it, my pc crashed. I found it again in the chest when I rebooted, but of course didn't try to get it again, now that my theory was sufficiently tested.

    What's the deal with this? Anyone? I believe I have installed everytiing correctly, as this is my first bug of sorts.

    If anyone knows what can be done, please clue me in. My Wizard/Rogue is getting antsy around all that fungus having left his Tenactin +3 back in Nulb.

    I recommend not playing the game! If you think you are having stability problems now just wait until later in the game when you get to the nodes...
    I wish you good luck - you will need it... trust me!

    I have a strong suspicion that it shouldn't be possible to open those chests until H-guy is dead. I had no problems looting them after ALL critters were removed.
    How idiotic it may sound, nothing does really surprise me in the bug department of this game. :)
    Which I still, despite the hair-tearing experience of the Galeb Duhr (I mean, the Balor was a walk in the park compared to them... And he has CR 8, by the way... ha ha ha laugh! Yeah right etc. :D ) think is quite a gem. :) I will play it at least once more (one might call it sadomasochism light...) :D

    Sorry for that... It just *beep* me off with the bugs and I don't have any hair left on my head (or anywhere else for that matter).

    But anyway... I did not encounter any problems opening the chests or getting the stuff there. I had my sorcerers use the knock spell to open all the chests after I cleared the entire room.
