    Heya,
first post here! Well, I ad this great idea of taking a cleric who could use the spiked chain weapon. I have two-weap fighting, exotic weapon proficiency spiked chain, high dex, high str, etc. But it wont work! Whenever I equip it states that I dont have the weap proficiency. Tried it with other characters, still the same. My other exotic weap proficiencies work.
    So any ideas from anyone?
Oh, and what type of weap is scather? Bastard sword or greatsword?
    Cheers,
    Ashen

As I understand it, Scather was originally supposed to be a great sword but due to a bug it acted as a bastard sword so the description was changed to make it a bastard sword in the first patch. That makes both of the uber-swords fall into the bastard category.

As far as the spiked chain goes, I heard from somewhere that is requires both the exotic and the two handed martial weapons proficiency but I have never checked to see if this is correct.

I'll have to investigate. I always have either a rogue or bard using the spiked chain, so the two weapons proficiency is just a given, and I give them the spiked chain proficiency as soon as I've acquired the chain. Not sure if I'm just lucky in not having a problem with it, or if that's the things you need.

As for Scather, it works with a greatsword proficiency, even if it only damages like a bastard sword, but it is SO nice when you're in combat...

There is a fix for the spiked chain exotic weapon proficiency (the moebius2778 temple.dll) get it from www.co8.org as for scather, it'll work if you have the greatsword proficiency, but if you have the exotic bastard sword proficiency you canuse it one handed!

One thing though, you cant use Scather on the Balor or the fire bretheren in the Fire temple or the game will freeze up on you.
