I have completed the quest up to the point where I have obtained Jaroo's consent for the conversion. When I went to talk to Marek and Rik I did not get a chance to ask Rik about building the barn. Am I missing something or is there a glitch? Thanks.

Pardon my faulty memory.... but did you talk to the lady to the south? The one who wants to marry him? As I recall, I had to run back and forth a couple of times between all the parties to get that quest done.

My problem was, I talked to the sister that will marry your character too early. Now I cant get her to marry me so I can get the Holy Sword from her daddy ~

Ah, just thought of something else..did you talk to Terjon and get his consent? Been a while since I did that part. main thing is...run around and talk to all of them again. You may have missed something that will update for ya. Good luck!

Yes I talked to her and I have gone back and talked to everyone I can think of. I also did get Terjon's concent. According to the walkthrough, Rik is supposed to mention building the barn if someone will pay for it but when I talk to him he just says that the villagers are being nicer to him. Nothing about building the barn.

    The walkthrough says:

"Now make your way back to Rik and Marek at #13. Marek informs you that he and Althea have already planned their marriage. Rik now agrees to make building a barn his top priority, provided he is assured by Mathilde that it will be paid for."

When I talk to Marek he answers according to the walkthrough but Rik does not agree to build the barn if he is paid. He only says he is being treated better by the villagers. Any thoughts?

Can any of you Modders look into the quest and see what is supposed to make the lines to finish his quest fire off-- like you did for me and the Clearing the Moathouse over at Co8.org?

Side note--Diamond Spear- if Ted (who is an awesome Co8 modder) doesn't see or respond to this post- you should go to www.Co8.org and ask the same question- perhaps refferring to what lines in the code may be prohibiting the completion of the quest.

    Well I looked - I don't see the problem.

Rik's thing to give you the answer you want is dependant on:

    1) The Carpenter's Dilemma quest being completed (green)

    2) The Cupid's Arrow quest being accepted (blue)

    3) Flag 14 being 0, it goes to 1 after he tells you to talk to Mathilde. (You won't have this yet obviously if he hasn't asked you to do it).

Assuming the quests show up that way in your logbook, try entering this in the console:

    game.global_flags[14] = 1

Then go talk to Mathilde the widow. See if that helps.

You must talk to Jaroo after terjon, you'll get the "I've done it! I've finally got Terjon's consent for Marrek to convert to the old faith" response, Tsk Tsk Ted, I thought you would've pick that one up.

I don't have these wretched quests memorised - heck, I avoid them! Anyways:
I took him at his word, seemed the appropriate thing to do.

    Well spotted though Allyx :)
