Playing patched and Co8 modded game. I'm down to the elemental nodes, and all my characters are level 9. Recently, in one battle, Elmo was charmed. I ended up having my bard charm him back to my side. Seemed to work OK. I rested at my shack in Nulb, pulled him back into the party after the rest. But now, everytime I try to visit certain people (Elmo's brother Otis, or the Rentons ) they attack on sight. I tried asking Elmo to leave the party, but as soon as de does he attacks me.

Anyone know what's going on, and if I can fix what appears to be a faction bug?

Unfortunately, the charm spell you cast on him was seen as an attack. Got to be careful with any NPC in the party getting hit with any spell, especially area effect spell (web, grease), it turns them hostile, but you don't know it until you ask them to leave and they attack you. I suggest letting Elmo get kill in battle, take his stuff, then atone at the temple to get the townspeople off your back. Unless your evil, then who cares, now you have an excuse to main and pillage.

Thanks for the note. What did you mean by atone at the temple? Is there something specific you can do at the temple to increase faction? As an experiment, I asked Elmo to leave and then fought him to the death. After he was out of my party, the Rentons would talk to me. I decided not to go that route because Elmo is almost level 10 and I didn't know of a good fighter replacement.

Atone = give lots of cash, don't waste your money on this unless you have to.

I wish people wouldnt use Elmo. He is a crutch for the Millhouse but he dilutes XP, takes loot and walks funny.

He's there for first timers, a higher level fighter to handle tougher fights (the ogre) while you learn the system. Anyone using any NPC the second time around is using a crutch.

Interestingly enough, after spending time in the temple fighting, the townspeople no longer are hostile to me. I can visit everyone and anyone without sparking a battle.

So I was able to speak with that renton lady about the Co8 desperate housewives quest. But here I'm a little stumped. I gave her all the quest items she wanted, but after giving them to her there was no sense that I completed the quest. No xp award and no dialogue indicating the quest was complete. Did I miss something?

Check your journal, does it show the quest is complete? Also, know bugs with doing some quest out of order. You may have spoke to the wrong person first. None of the quest are life or death, so I wouldn't fret over them. You will get more than enough XP to reach level 10 (top level).

Well the dialogue is certainly there.

Go chat to her one more time. Or check the list she gave you to make sure there is nothing missing.
