Can you believce the stupidity of this site? Yes the Trade centre events were tragic but this just takes sensitivity to another level. And before you ask, this really is real. Thankyou Uluk for showing me this.

Anyways I personally didn't even connect the two events with each other until I saw those two links. Like I said to Sir Dargorn in #sorcerers any reasonable people realize that quote right there is just pure bs.

Can't we just leave these people alone? They're not going to make a difference in delaying The Two Towers, and they're all going to simply protest about it - and few will listen. But no need to mock them about it. Sheesh.

 

Actually this is where you may be wrong. After reading over some petitions at petition online.com i have discovered that there are a great deal of signitures, not just to change the title but ban the film entirely, there is even a petition to totally ban the book, which also has a surprising amount of support.

Unfortunately, there is never a shortage of zealots in the world. Apparently the people who started the petitions have never read the book or seen the movie, or simply missed the message of hope. Nor did they see the message of diverse peoples overcoming their natural distrust and animosity towards each other in order to fight evil.

I believe the guys deserve a trial as well, not only public acknowledgment of their idiocy. 'Intentionally named' after a book the movie is based on, I believe?

In TeamBG forum a man told me Tolkien has recently been criticised for not including *certain things* in his book. Certain things comprise homosexual relations among others.

 

I am outraged at what the people above are doing not only have they riddiculed a great film but they also seem to think that the writers gave the film the name "the two towers" because of 9/11 when the books where writen way before 9/11.

The two TOWER isn't in same World, and it's was writing in the 30s-40s WAY before the 9/11 happen... What will you want to call the movie?! I'd already heard of stuff like that going last year. My first reaction was laughter thinking it was indeed a joke. When I finally got shown it wasn't I thought how stupid can people be?

It happened. It may have been tragic, but trying in vain to ignore it is just pathetic. History is there to be learned from, not ignored.

Sir Belisarius, your humorous post hits right on. If we started banning everything like these fools want to do, why not simply ban talking, because terrorists talk to each other.

Geeze it's not like they are called the twintowers in the movie, now if there were like middle earth zeppelin aircrafts crashing in the towers both at the same time (o.k. a little time in between) and with the fellowship abandoning their quest (well sauron was in that tower so he is dead) to hunt down Osmeagola bin Gollum in the caverns of moria. Now if that would have happened in the movie they would have a point.

Why not ban the Holy Bible then? God negotiates with Satan, brother kills brother, references to sexual aspect of love are also present. Drinking wine is shown as good as well as using other fruits of life... Women are being discriminated many a time, homosexual intercourse is condemned as well as other perversies...

But let's come back to towers. Two like two but I wonder when someone will start picking at me about the nick.
