[IMG] Though most may not agree with me i belive that bg has limited replay value.Good or evil maybe neutral. Spell caster or fighter type.but when you think about it after toy've done that same quest what 2 times 3 times even it gets boring...after all there is only so many times it will be fun to the nashkel mines quest.

  2. Caine, I played BG 7 times.

I agree though, I thought the game was rather sad to replay, mostly because of the technical aspect though.

I only played it through twice I think (not even sure I completed it the second time)

Though I still remember my first time through, oh those were the times...

I played teh game several times, with several alignments, characters, weapons, and number af chars... I still enjoy the game and soon I will play it with 4 characters, 1 pure thief, one cleric/thief, one Fighter/thief and one mage/thief.

But indeed, the first time is the best for then you don't what will happen. I'm looking forward at Never Winter Nights... Hope that game will change that.

I really agree that, with games such as this, it's just too hard, for me at least, to get a real amount of enjoyment out of playing it multiple times. Now, I do have to admit my attention span is limited and I just can't pump hours upon hours away with computer games. Sometimes, I'll finish them, and sometimes, even with excellent games, I just get bored and go for something else. Even with wonderful games like Age of Empires, and, until recently, Icewind Dale, have fallen victims to this habit relatively early in the game. So, for me, usually playing through a game, especially one as long as this, a second time isn't very rewarding, even if you can do it evil. Hey, I've tried, most recently with ToB with a very differnt party structure, evil, and some cool new class combination I made with Shadow Keeper. Didn't last two weeks and I didn't make it past the initial stages. Why? Mostly because I've seen it all before, and regardless about what everyone says about the differt RP experiences and challanges that can happen when playing games like this through again, the story line still remains mostly static. You can answer questions differently if you are evil, but mostly then net you the same result or responses from the PC's cept in a limited few instances. I just find playing a game twice, when you've done everything thoroughly already and their are new, good games out there, unfufilling in the end.

Mind you, and I didn't say this earlier (my oversight...sorry), but I did play BG all the way through, even though it took me almost 10 months if you can believe that feat (still didn't finish it outright....stupid bug  ). Anway, it had a great story and it kept me going through all the hours here and there I put into the game. Didn't mean to depress anyone here ;) But I still stand by my statement that they aren't enjoyable to play multiple times through, for me at least. Maybe if the games were more random with mosters or something, I don't know really. It just seemed the same old, same old trip the second time through for me *shrugs*. What can I say.

Of course BG1 is replayable. The only thing is that the character moving is very annoying after playing for example Icwind Dale. The characters are stupid...

[IMG] People talk about how stupid the characters move around but I haven't really noticed it, it seems to me they are no more "stupid" then the ones in BG2. Anyway it's a minimal problem. And you shouldn't let that rain on your parade ;)

All I know is when I got BG a year and a half ago it was the greatest thing since sliced bread! I must have tried every class kit at least once!

well first ive had the game since it came out, around 3 years ago, ive beat it about 12 times and all i have to say is that we have an unlimited resource here with teambg and ive spent the last 2 months creating a game mod of the nine hells, IMO thats more fun than playing the actual game, making it better for other people
