harper/Jaheira Question (*Spoiler*)

I have finished the Xzar/monty quest. It's day 50 or so gametime, and neither bandits nor harpers have appeared. Is there a dialoug option I missed will doing xzar/monty quest? Do I have to Kill the harpers inside? or the one that kills xzar? As you can tell I'm kinda lost

 

Just relax and let things take course. You are through with the Harpers for now. Later in the game, Jaheira will be summoned to the Harpers Hold, and you will get to talk to them again. Minor spoil... I went searching for Valygar at the Umar Hills and thats what started the ball rolling. dont worry you will cross paths with the Harpers again..

 

Has anyone managed to kill the Harper assasin, she just vanishes off the screen when i try. I used xvar right through BG1 last time round so I thought he deserved a little vengance.

 

Pizzafiend, I don't think that Valygar matters. I was approached while in the Druid Grovae with Cernd, AFTER coming back from the Underdark (not sure if that is normal or not)

 

I got jumped by the Harpers right after my battle with the Shade Lord in Umar Hills. I mean right after.. he died and there they were... which really sucked because I hadn't had a chance to rest or anything but I managed to get by

 

The timing on the Harper quest is different when you play as a female, Jahira is summoned to the Harper Hold right after the business with Xzar. When you play as a male, it takes longer.

 

When I completed the quest for Xzar, the Harper assassin killed him (as usual). My party was evil (with a rep of 2 at the time), and she turned on me and attacked! I was quite suprised by this, as usually she just leaves, but I guess if you are evil enough, she comes for you as well!

She wasn't, however, very tough to defeat.

 

I think it needs to happen after you choose her, or I suppose Aerie during their spat.

Also with Jaheira and the Harpers later on she goes, comes back and you both go to the hold. Some Muppet atempts to capture you to further his position in the Harpers, Jaheira stands by you and you have to kill him (Galvery or something) and his lackeys. Later I was attacked (leaving my Thieves Guild..if you please) by more damned Harpers.

Does this continue, I mean they have GOOD stuff (Ring of Wizardry in the first fight)but (soft I know) but i do not want to get Jaheira in trouble and frankly could do without the ambushes as There are always quite a few of thm and one ALWAYS goes for little Aerie who can`t handle hand-to-hand combat (bless her). Can anyone advise how this proceeds either here or to my email address...thanks.

For my group, every time it gets to the position you describe (after two or three warnings/attacks)...

Ater a bit longer when you camp outside somewhere (for me, it was always at Umar Hills) you will wake up and find Jaheira gone. A note blowing in the wind tells you she has gone to face the problem.

For my group, we never bothered to run after her at that point. Just replaced her with Viconia. I mean, after all, we stood up for her, we chased after her and supported her. Then to up and leave in the middle of the night seemed to say "Don't follow me this time" So we didn't.

Don't know the outcome if you do track her down again.

 

I don't remember exactly, but I thought that the locket incident was triggered by talking to a merchant (I think it was outside of Trademeet).

Yeah, I went back to the Harper Stronghold after Jaheira left (and I was "dating" Aerie, too) and Jaheira practically wet her pants when she saw me come back for her. I said something to the effect of "We will find a solution to this mess" or something and then she started with the "I like that you said "we"...um, we'll talk later..." Heh! My guy's a babe magnet!

 

I remember byuing that necklace in the dock´s district from a trader directly in front of the temple of something there.
I was romancing Jaheira at that time and I was also triggered to buy it. Maybe you need to romance with her to buy it.

 

Anyone (with Jaheira in the party) can buy the neclace, It's just a very inconspcious trader you might miss talking to him.
