That’s the Way the Cookie Crumbles

people complain about people not doing enough nice stuff for their community, so someone does and they're repayed with a lawsuit. The main reason a lot of people stopped helping people who were injured in accidents or critically wounded. People were suing for damages. Ridiculous

 

Well people are just too touchy these days. I know I'm a little to sensetive at times, but I'm working on that. And I know it's just me, I'm not gonna sue anyone for it.

 

All i can say is that it figures. People whine about the lack of humanity in modern cities and towns, and the lack of interaction among residence, but this is exactly why. What benifit is there for one to help their neighbour when in doing so, one makes themselves a target. If kindness and generacity are the modern equivilient to exposing your throat, and greedy heartless crones of neighbours have become preditors, then the two will continue to not only ignore each other, but feel satisfaction when one is laid low by some plight. I bet that by the end of the court case those girls were imagining what it would have been like if the women had indeed keeled over from a heart attack.

 

Yeah, they learned a lesson all right. Next year, they're going to that dance and there will definitely be cursing and drinking!

Methinks that if I were living near that neighborhood back when I was a little mischievous kid, I'd definitely be leaving a flaming bag of poo on her front doorstep! I bet that lady is going to really be hating life around Halloween!

 

Granted that 10:30 at night is a little late to be delivering treats but that woman still overacted. The parents offered to pay the medical expenses but she had to sue. At least the Judge only awarded her what she was offered + $39.00 court costs.

 

So, this all means that you're in favor of the "Bush torte reform" legislation?

Wow, I feel safer already.

Well, the woman finally got her chance to matter anything and would you expect her to let go of it so easily? Damn, she has a serious attitude problem.

There will be no gloating about it, but will she learn her own lesson before her hour comes? There's not a lot of time left...

Wow, now imagine someone as paranoid with a shotgun - he would have perhaps blasted the girls right through his door, just to be safe.

I wonder what can turn people into frightened little chickens ... too much reality tv? Too much crime time? Bleh. I start to think Michael Moore really had a point with his "culture of fear".

 

So the woman was 49? Wow. From what I read, with her reaction etc. I would have guessed she was at least 80.

 

Same here warrior, I thought it was a 95 year old woman with a heart condition who went into shock or something.

I also thought the same things Ragusa brought up. How can anyone be that afraid?
