I am soloing with an Inquisitor. :holy:

What is the best weapon for my character?
    I think:
    dual wield
    - flail of ages in the left hand
    - various long sword in the right hand

I do not use the holy avanger.:holy:

  2. Use either the CF or the pommel.

I also like the carmosyr!!!Who told you I dont.HUH.Speak up.

Yo Padine, check in which forum we are. That's right, the Shadows of Amn forum.

May I say grats for choosing dualwield? :) Don't see that many Paladins these days that forsake Carsomyr. Flail of Ages is very good, especially if you throw in Belm+2 in the mix for an extra attack. CromFaeyr is also very good (if you don't mind the overpoweredness)

Personally I like dualwielding a longsword and belm with a Paladin, because of the looks (they matter a lot ;) ) Longswords I use are Daystar, Blade of Roses, Dragonslayer etc.

Any good longsword goes. Faragron has listed them all. My preference is Adjatha.

Ever consider Celestial Fury? Its a Katana, from the Guard Compound, I think.

[IMG] Paladins can't specialize so switching weapons as you get further into the story is quite ok. For it to be a good choice there should be a +3 weapon of that type reasonably early in the game.

At start a 2H-sword is still great since you can get a decent one in the starting dungeon and a talking +3 sword almost the first thing you do after getting out of that dungoen.

Another weapon mentioned is a favourite of mine: the Flail of the Ages. Just what you need against golems. IMO it's easier to get this weapon than Celestial Fury.

As mentioned Celestial Fury is great. You can get this one reasonably fast, especially if you can quickly kill the character using the weapon and then hightail it out of there with that gorgeous katana in your backpack. Still not easy though.

    Just for the record:
The ultimate is Carsomyr, the Holy Avenger, a 2H-sword which you can get before leaving chapter 3. It's really a tough fight, so you need to plan on using other weapons before you get that far.

Since you're not going with Carsomyr a good option is axes. Azuredge is a truly fine weapon! :)

Worth mentioning is the fact that Crom Faeyr isn't available until the last part of the game. Good idea to plan on using it once you get there, but you will play roughly 90% of the game with another weapon. Solves your golem problems nicely. :)

If you choose not to use 2H-weapons my recommendation is to use a shield instead of dual wielding. A shield can give you excellent protection which a second weapon can't. Shield of Harmony is a superb choice for a soloing character.

My choice is the Flail of Ages and Celestial Fury. Hard to find a better combination. They can't hit you if they can't move.

Another favorite, but not for the Paladin, is Blackrazor and either of the above. But of course you do not get Blackrazor until the end of the game. Just thinking of the future.
