[IMG] Okay, I have a question....and it may very well be a dumb one, so bear with me. There is a door that leads off the big room in the lower level of the planar sphere (the one where you fight the cowled wizards) that says it leads to an empty storage area and it's not worth bypassing the magical wards to get down there, or something. My character is a mage, and the sphere is now my stronghold...but I can't get down there to that room! I can see that there is a walkway on the other side of that damn door, so it must actually lead to somewhere...right? Do I ever get to go down there? I thought there might be some fun magical stuff I'm missing out on, and it's driving me crazy! :)

Any info on this would be much appreciated!

I had asked the same question way back and the general consensus was that this might lead to an expansion pack of some kind but know that I think about it have you tried to teleport over to the other side?

if you ask me i think its like the thing we were talking about yesterday, and how the rouge stone opened a door for an quest type thing, why not try the kings tears or something that look like it might be used for something, (i persionally dont know never tried) just my guess though

Hmmm....I'd like to try teleporting, but I'm not sure how I would do that....is it a spell? If so, I don't have it....I can cast spere of chaos, or something like that, but that teleports randomly....is there a more direct way?

The spell Dimension Door is the teleport spell. You cast it and then click where you want to go and you should teleport there.

Ah, but BG2 doesn't offer dimension door for some odd reason. Perhaps the door is just like many other doors that can't be opened for some reason or another: they're just there. I would think if there was some way to open it, it would have been posted by now. I assume it leads to the janitor's closet.

Well, okay...I guess I'll have to be satisfied with that for now....but for the love of all that is good...if someone finds out how to open that door or get in somehow, please post it here!

CTRL-J? Forgive my ignorance, but what's that? Is it a cheat? Because if so I don't have them enabled...I want to beat the game fair and square. What does ctrl-j do, exactly?

    Anyone?

    Bueller...Bueller...?

    (Sorry, couldn't help it)

well it teleports you where the cursor is pointing to......i usually use it so i don't have to wait for my characters to walk from one end of the map to the other
i don't really consider that cheating
    just impatience

Okay, well here's the final results, for anyone who was interested....

I used CTRL+J to get to the other side of the door. There is a walkway there, sure enough...but it's just a dead end. I thought that perhaps it would lead to another, secret section...but no. My conclusion at this point is that I agree with everyone who decided it'll probably (and hopefully!) lead to some sort of expansion pack thing. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Then you can spoil it your self, if you feel this vile need, but unless u beat the game once i suggest not...
