Well, I'm bored, and figured I may as well 'contribute'(Heh) to the community. So rather than asking my normal boring, silly questions about actual gameplay, I'll do one of these 'Poll' things and ask a boring, silly question of another sort. Right, then. Let's get on with it. This particular poll is on your favorite Voices and Portraits for your protagonists, although Favorite NPC voice would be another nice bit to add. Also, on the off chance that they've read this far, I'd like to ask Tjek and Kailyne(sorry I couldn't spell that correctly..) about their 'celebrity' characters, namely Lerrahud, Durrahel, Wally and REAL Man: Which portraits and voices did you use for these famous fellows?

EDIT: Heh... Forgot to answer my own poll :S
Well, I almost always use the Eldoth portrait, for just about any Human or Half-Elven character. Especially thieves and bards. As for voices, I -loved- the default voice from BGI, but since it's not in BG2 I'm stuck with ... Number three, I think 'I wouldn't DREAM of refusing!'. Pah!

As unoriginal as it may be, Minsc's voice is my favorite. There at the very beginning when you free him and he says "beserker strength", I swear it sounds just like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

[IMG] My favourites (both for portraits and sounds) are the ones from Planescape: Torment, downloaded here an age ago. Roleplaying a Vhailor-like character was very fun.

Incidentally, does anyone know of any good portraits I could use for a Halfling Kensai?

    Portraits:
-All BG1 ports, particularly Edwin, Xan, Xzar and Kivan for males, and Branwen, Safana and Skie for females.

    Soundsets:
-From BG1: Eldoth, Edwin, Kivan, Xan, for women I use whatever
-From others: Number 2 of the original soundsets and also Dakkon, Vhailor and Annah. I also like using sets like Monty Python :).

[IMG] I don't reuse portraits so I am always on the look-out for good portraits. But sounds, the *only* sound set that you can chose from that I like is the male voice from BG1 that says the "time for a bit of a rough and tumble". The rest just don't appeal to me. For other sound sets I started off with ones like the Dragonheart set and a Jack Nicholson set. Then I got tired of those and now I use the sound sets of the various NPC's. Valygar and Keldorn are my two favorite male soundsets. Jaheira and Mazzy are my two favorite female soundsets. Annah's voice from Planescape Torment is good too.

Neither I reuse portraits. Those I've used recently are:

    Cernd/Holy Grail for a Berserker/Druid

Darth Vader/Darth Vader for gnomish fighter/illusionist

    "What a strange person!"

"There will be a sustancial reward, for the one who finds the milenium Falcon. You may use any means nessesary, but i want them alive. No Disintigrations!"

    "As you whish."

[IMG] Tal, I too love Murray. However, didnt you find it annoying when an NPC started talking and Murray was still in full flow about hiding keys in your upholstrey or swarms of angry locusts?

Always custom portraits, although i like Kivans portrait i associate that portrait with that character and i therefor dont use any portraits any character from the game uses. I have quite a bit of soundsets dor females but not any for males (could any one tell me where i might download Kivans voice other than 3ddownloads or Fileplanet because i hate downloading from those places). From the built-in voices i like Male2, the "Quick and Painful..." one.

    [IMG] Haer'Dalis or the Old Edwin, although i changed them both according to the class i'm playing;
eg. Change hair or clothing colour

Voices: Edwin's is just too funny to beat!
"fine fine, kick around Edwin is it? (you insufferable monkey)"

[IMG] My favorite portrait is probably Edwin's from
BG1, but I usualy use custom portraits.

My favorite sound set would have to be Edwin's. I usualy use Male2 and Male3.

[IMG] In terms of Haer'Dalis I am a fan of that jaunty little tune he whistles and of "I do not care o'er much for being prodded all the time".

[IMG] I like the part in the old Edwin where he goes:

"Elminster this, Elminster that! Give me two thousand years and a pointy hat and I'll kick his arse!" The way he pronounces "arse" is just hilarious.

The new Edwin also has hilarious quotes, like: "Edwin do this, Edwin do that. Somebody get this jerk a banana."

Oh yes, one more soundset I forgot: Guybrush Threepwood. He's good with a halfling or elven character.
