I'm giving you a top 5. It's the principle. Top 4 lists just seem so...80% complete...

    1. The Holy Trinity (the original Star Wars trilogy, of course)
    2. High Fidelity
    3. The Breakfast Club
    4. Real Genius
    5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

In no particular order. All of which make the list because they all get better every time I see them. They've withstood the test of time and - more importantly - attention span.

What kind of movie is goodfellas if it's so damn good? I'm amazed the favo movies actually change a lot, which is good. It can't all be LotR, you know...

@ Uytuun: A Belgian production? How come I never heard of it... :) Must be my hatred for home-produced movies...

EDIT: Great, another vote for American Beauty. That's really a great movie, has a lot of moral value. Still one of my fav's.

    @Nizidramanii'yt

Goodfellas was a mafia movie starring Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci and Robert DeNiro. It was actually pretty similar to Casino imo.

Heh, was going to add a number 5 to that list, since it deserves a number 5, and saw FP had mentioned it too. Memento. Amazing film, and a really novel idea. Definately no.5.

    2. Forrest Gump
    3. Se7en
    4. A new Hope

Wondering why the Last Samurai is so well liked here.
Insinuating that an american was the last samurai is not only disturbing but insulting, if Hollywood wants to distort history to the viewer's taste, then they should keep to their own history..
Check the maddox review of this movie

I'm happy nobody mentioned Troy, else I'd get really pissed..

Perhaps nior means Patriot Games if the reason is Harrison Ford.

And speaking of Harrison, one of my fave movies of his is Regarding Henry. But then I'm a bit of a sucker for movies like that.

@Enagonios, Thanks for correcting, I was actually thinking of Patriot Games (H. Ford & Sean Bean) as Aldazar had said.

@Aldazar, I loved Regarding Henry too. "I can read!" ...I always loved that scene. But I tend to group Regarding Henry with The Witness and Frantic.

Yup, Frantic is the one in France. It's kind'a hard to swallow but nevertheless, I liked it.

    4. Rush Hour 1+2 (Hilarious)
    3. We Were Soldiers Once
    2. Ocean's Eleven (Yes, I know, most of you are thinking, 'what the heck?', but it is so very clever that it is a must)
    1. Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope, 5: The Empire Strikes Back, and 6: The Return of the Jedi (It doesn't get any better than that)

Honorable Mentions to: Silence of the Lambs, Braveheart, Band of Brothers (All of them), Saving Private Ryan, and what would be my number 5:: Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (Jim Carrey is the man!!!)(And the sequel was terrible)
