[IMG] Just saw this today, and I'm thrilled! Finally Narnia's being brought to film, and by the same people who worked on LoTR - and in New Zealand!

Check it out here. Make sure to download the Behind-the-Scenes movie on that page, it's great!

Yeah, work has been going on in NZ on this for a few months now. It was front page headline news in NZ when they started.

It's gonna be awesome - I'm excited. I just hope they don't try to modernize it ala Romeo & Juliet or something similar. They should be British kids from the early 20th century...as intended.

One cool tidbit I've read recently - Brian Cox, who you all may know as Agememnon from Troy and Striker from X-Men 2 will be the voice of Aslan. Nice.

Ah, I had heard this before, but I didn't know there was a behind the scenes movie. I have to watch it soon.

Also, did you know they are doing a "The Last Unicorn" movie with real people? It was said that they will be using mostly the people who did the voices in the Animated movie, as actors.

Someone made those movies years ago... one for each book. They weren't particularly good, so i stopped after the fourth one (of course, i was around 6 or 7, so that doesnt count)

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was made in 1988, and then rest afterwards (obviously)

    It was with real people

    @ Saber,

I think the 1988 one was a BBC TV mini-series.
I think it was supposed to be quite good for the time - at least I vaguely remember it getting good reviews in the press.

Why is it that The Magicians Nephew is never considered the first book?

I hope they continue to make the movies, at the very least to the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, so we can see Reepicheep on the big screen.

For the same reason that The Silmarillion is never considered to be the first Middle Earth book - it just doesn't work that way.

Actually, "The Magicians Nephew" was not written first.

Here is a list of the publishing order:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (1950)

    Prince Caspian (1951)

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (1952)

    The Silver Chair (1953)

The Horse and His Boy (1954)

    The Magician's Nephew (1955)

    The Last Battle (1956)

I'm really looking forward to this movie. :)

It's pretty difficult to adapt a book into a movie... I just hope they won't change too much..

And I hope they will make all 7 books into movies...

I also found this link to some artwork from the movie :
