Anybody on the board seen it yet? It's supposed to be a real vision quest but the content is getting mixed reviews from critics.I heard Mickey Rourke steals the show.

I have not seen it yet, I had no intention of seeing it due to the trailers looking absolutely idiotic, but my brother saw it yesterday and he says that it is excellent.

He is insisting that I should go to see it ASAP. Given that my brother seems to only give such ringing endorsements to one or two films a year I guess that I will probably go see it sometime this week.

I've heard that, while it's not perfect, it is reasonably different from most other movies around at the moment, and worth seeing.

It currently has 77% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes - which is a lot higher than I would have expected for that type of film.

Rotten Tomatoes? Is that a "gamespot for movies"?

I'll probably go see it. Tarentino's films are usually pretty good imo and, if for nothing else, I'll see it for all the half-naked hotties ;) :D

Rotten Tomatoes collects all of the professional film reviews that it can find on-line for films and displays a short segment and link for each review.

The site has a rating for the films based upon the percentage of reviews that are positive. It is a pretty good resource for finding movie reviews.

I saw it Friday and if you liked the graphic novels then you will love this movie. If you like Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi or Desperpado then you will love this movie. I like both and I will be seeing this movie several more times.

I saw a making of picture somewhere where they were in the process of filming a scene and in the corner you could see the actual graphic novels laid out. I think it will be very true to the book, though I have never read it. I thought it was a video game, but maybe that's Sin. I don't know. I am going to see it though.

I never read the graphic novels and I don't know how well I would have liked them. I always found the quality of Miller's work to fit an inverse bell curve - he was either excellent or just plain bad with relatively in the little middle of the road.

Rotten Tomatoes is a great site that I am a member of. Let me tell you, it's probably the best movie review site that i have been to in a while. Although some of the reviewers do more complaining than reviewing. Besides that, IMDB (internet movie database) has detailed info on most movies, just type in the movies full name and you'll find it there. There is also alot of information about upcomming movies and when they come out. Just thought I would stop in and through in what info I know about these sites. :)

I am just home from seeing it in the the theatre - I really liked it. Its level of ultra violance may turn a lot of people off - it makes Kill Bill look like an episode of the Care Bears, but the violence works well in the context of the movie. The stories were all quite enjoyable and the film is really quite funny.

Mickey Rourke absolutely steals the show. You just can't stop yourself from breaking into a big goofy grin pretty much the entire time he is on the screen.

Saw Sin city tonight. Was pretty good, very violent and full of testosterone. I enjoyed all three stories but I thought the Bruce Willis one was the best because he did the best acting. Jessica Alba was surprisingly good as was Brittainy Murphy. Mickey Rourke's character was great as the blood and guts warrior and Elijah Wood surprised me with his role. Great stuff.

Just for a laugh I followed a link to one of those Christian parental review website's review of Sin City.

It managed to score a 0 out of 100 in terms of having morally acceptable content. The reviewer went on about how he would normally fill about 2.5 log pages of objectionable things during a normal R rated film but Sin City took up more than 7 pages.

The reviewer stated that it had the highest amount of objectionable material of any of the over 1000 films that he has reviewed. I can't think of much in the way of higher praise than that. :thumb:

Yup, it definitely went where others fear to tread. I can see now why it is in black and white. Squirt! Splash! RIP!
