I search music that would be suitable to create an appropriate ambiance for my Vampire: The Requiem Role play. Something that would create a feeling of dread and Death. Something more appropriate for newer Kindred. I though maybe something like Death Metal, alas the sole band I know would be Cradle of Filth and I only know them by name. Any thought?

Try the following for something more atmospheric than CoF:

    Summoning - all albums
Falkenbach - Ok Nefna Tysvar Ty
Dimmu Borgir - just the 'Stormblast' album
    Borknagar - all albums
In the Woods - all albums
Dissection - Storm of lights Bane
Primordial - Spirit the Earth Aflame
    Agathodaimon - Blacken the Angel

The game of VtM on PC had Tiamat on the soundtrack so maybe you should check them out.

    You could also try:
Anathema - everything up to The Silent Enigma included
Katatonia Dance Of December Souls, Brave Murder Day
My Dying Bride As The Flower Withers

and many more death doom bands :p

P.S. CoF's Dusk...And Her Embrace would be very good also :D

All bands mentioned above are excellent, but are (imo) too attention demanding for a gaming session... Try anything from Elend, if that doesn't create a feeling of dread nothing will.

    LOL!

I was going to say Celine Dion, but Abba will do just fine. :shake:
