And good job on the positive ID of the song. That was from WAAAAAY back when men were men and Anathema was a real doom metal band.

(Just an aside, do you know the name of the other song on that Anathema album that quoted the same poet?)

The song is from 1982 and would fit best in the soul category. The group is from New York and this song is their only hit.

It was coverd by Mariah Carey in her film, Glitter.

Correct. I figured more people would know about GTA 3 than Glitter.

RIght, since I'm apparently more obtuse than fog bank, I'm going to close this one by revealing the song to be Glenn Gould's So You Want To Write A Fugue?
