Good vs. Evil in Hell

I've heard that there are different rewards (and penalities for taking the good or evil path in hell), and I would like to know each of them, so I know what choice to make for my PC (a Totemic Druid). I've beaten the game twice, but both only on the good route, and I'd like to know what they are for being evil.

    SPOILER END

    Thanks people
(BTW, I recently registered for these boards, so I'm a newbie to them.)

The only path worth doing evil is the one with sarevok.

not quite true. For the tear You get +2 str if you're killing him with your wrath(evil way), and you get +1wis & +1cha if you kill him the good way(not falling into hate/wrath whatever - good way).

IF you do the evil way of attacking you another +1 permanent stat increase, this stat differ a bit depending on your class.
Look at this thread for more info, it's only 3 posts, so it shouldn't be that much reading http://www.sorcerers.net/ubb/Forum2/HTML/003456.html

Imho the only paths worth doing the evil way are the greed (for Blackrazor) and the selfishness (to avoid stat loss - exp and HP are OK, but -1 Dex is not) tests.

You can finish off the selfish test by choosing the evil way, and then if you carry rod of resurrection just use it on the sacrificed one, so your party is stll intact. ;) The benefit is that you get good-way bonus after all.(eg.+10 MR) :)

[IMG] Laksol, that is not true!

The thing you have experienced is due to a bug in the game where you can trick it to give you some good rewards even though you do it the evil way!

    If you do like this:

    Pride - Good way
Fear? (nymph cloak) - Good way
Selfishness - either way you get the good reward.

Just some more hints to the last one.

Greed - here you can choose, but eventually pickpocket the genie for the tear, and still keep blackrazor & get the good reward (NOT CONSIDERED RPG'ING!!!)

that's the way to think. You really should roleplay that part of the game, no matter how much you stretched your morals before.. you get simple alignment questions, you can't powergame those.

[IMG] Actually, the problem is that robbing that genie is a bug - it should be made impossible to steal the sword from him.

Stealing on that point IMHO should be considered as EVIL or NEUTRAL, however it is considered GOOD. That's the problem.

    Bugs, bugs, everywhere...

I don't think so. Its a non violent way of getting the tear. Would the genie rather I kill him? would the universe rather? Cause I'm not giving up my sword =)

Yes he would, "I would welcome such a release, should you prove able!" I don't see anything that points to he doesn't want to be killed
