Jaheira Romance Bug

Hi again.
In my last thread (Where is Elmnister) I mentioned that I had a bug in the romance with Jaheira. I nice fellow helped me and told me I hade to write a command in the console.
Now I have done that and tested three times. It doesnt help!
Jaheira stills keep repéating that same line (how did that last battle yadayadayada) and it drives me nuts! Help before I do something I will regret !

 

There are two possible reasons for that.
1. You haven't placed the mouse pointer on Jaheira while typing the command (click on her to be sure).
2. You haven't typed the command exactly as it was written (WITH QUOTES).

Retry it.

It seems I had forgotten to place the marker over the woman.. :0 Now it worked. But I had also downloaded a romance guide before and if the guide is right I have missed three or four BIG dialouges with Jaheira. Will they come later or is that a sacrifice you have to make to make the romance work again?

 

Those three dialogs are totally unimportant.
IIRC none of those can break your romance, they are just a decoration.

 

But in the guide I saw something about "LT 53" around those dialogues. Can´t I set the value to 53 so that they will come?

 

No. In that case you'll get that LT54 dialogue in loop.

 

Ok, but if I start a new game (in the future) will the same thing happen again?, I mean, will Jaheira get stuck on that dialouge again so I´ll have to do this again... Or is this just bad luck?

 

It is bad luck. It doesn't happen in every game.
Only in those games where Dermin appears prematurely (hint: the script automatically increases lovetalk value on Dermin's appearing, if he appears before he should, the lovetalk value can't be increased later).

But I'm telling you not to worry. The romance will proceed just as if nothing happened and you'll have no consequences.
This doesn't apply on ToB users! In case anyone with ToB uses search and gets to this thread, DO NOT use the upper command!

 

Ok I almost understand now. I´m very sorry for asking so much questions but I´m not used to use scripting and the Console, and apart from that I´m from Sweden and doesn´t know english THAT well.
So anyway.
I´ve read your answers and the Scripting part in the Romance Guide, and I just have a few more questions.

I´m right now in the beginning of the Underdark, you know,after leaving that Fishmonster town. I know that´s a dungeon and that the romance wont advance in there. But I wan´t to know how to do it when I get out..

I checked my LT value and it was 52.
I´ve also read that if you want yo set a new value of LT it must be an odd number.

Now to the question.
Can you explain exactly why I cannot set it to 53? I mean then the dialoug timer should start and then it should become 54 and the next dialuoge should start. Why? Please, if you can, try to explain it as easy as possible.

Briefly:

You set it to 53.
The script waits some time and then increases LT by 1 which starts the LT 54.
Then that same script waits for Dermin to appear before the LT is increased by 1.
However, Dermin doesn't appear! Why? Because you've already dealt with him.
What the script does now when the LT timer expires?
Kicks out the same old LT 54. And there's your dialog loop.

The first LT where Dermin is not waited for is LT 57, and that's why we set it on that value.

But in theory, couldn´t I increase it to 53, wait to hear that dialouge and then set it to 57.. Would that work?

 

Actually, I'm unsure what would happen. It should work, but...

 

I will try.. maybe I can do LT 55 too.. who knows.. I will be a pioneer!
