Hmmmm... I think i would chose Fools gold and Conflagration of Doom, both from Warhammer fantasy battle. I kknow some people and places who should be on the recieving end of the later of those two!

 

Teleport - imagine no more having to commute to and from work, sigh! On the other hand it would rather unfortunately cut down on the excuse about not being able to visit certain relatives more often due to travel time.

 

Time Stop - useful for everything

Keep Calmness - can be put to good use

Imp. Invisibility - for scouting

Cure Disease(and/or hangover) - of course

WISH

 

Wish would be great, except I'd fail the Wisdom test.

Time stop for me. LOTS of time stops.

1. Time Stop - I think everybody could use this at some point or another.

2. Invisibility - again, real handy. Not to be abused, of course.

3. Power Word, Silence - I get sick of hearing the same crap about how all men are chauvinist bastards from the people in my office every day. And of course, my opinion (however reasonably argued) is invalid, since I'm one of them... of course, sometimes, I'd have to PW myself, but giving people a few minutes to shut up and think is not a bad idea, since it won't really harm anybody.

4. Resurrection - too many people I know have committed suicide; I've always believed that if people knew the mess they'd leave behind, they would at least reconsider, and in most cases, give life a good shot. Only for when nature hasn't been allowed to run its course.

5. Eagle's Splendour - for when you need to make a good impression - it sounds so much cooler than its 2nd Ed equivalent... and I'm not into the whole "Charm" thing - it's too morally fraught for me.

Some Honourable mentions:

Neutralize Poison - for when you need to get over that hangover REAL quick, or just drive home after a night out.

Silence, 15' Radius - as Power Word, Silence.

Dimension Door - can you guess how chaotic a game of soccer could become?

 

Almost everybody wants to kill/fire/lightning to someone...

 

Never played IWD2. So I'll just take my pick from the spells proposed here. And considering there's no reason not to say "all of them" if there's no limit, I'll place a maximum limit of 5 and 10 for myself.

Top 5:

- Improved Invisibility . . . (I guess the reason is obvious, for protection and fun)
- Teleport . . . (For protection and the ability to go on vacations without spending time & cash on it)
- Heal . . . (To take care of myself and the people and animals around me)
- Cure Disease . . . (Reason for this is obvious as well)
- Resurrect . . . (Well this is obvious)

+ Top 10:

- Timestop . . . (Works for about anything)
- Sleep . . . (Pacifistic response to a threat situation)
- Stoneskin . . . (Perfect defense in real life)
- Magic Missiles . . . (Can't miss, and quick to cast.. no-one can defend against this spell)
- Fireball . . . (Numerous uses, most of all in a hostile situation)

1) Polymorph Self - The perfect disguise. Excellent for sneaking about, getting acces to places you normally wouldn't be able to go.
2) Tongues - Never be bothered by linguistic barriers again.
3) Teleport without error - Traffic jam? Public transportation? I laugh at you.
4) Dominate Monster - What you can't get done yourself, you let others do for you.
5) Heal - For obvious reasons. Ease the suffering around me.

Though, I can't pass up on this one:

6) Fireball - For caving in to the temptation of blasting away people that annoy me.

 

Yah, I know, it's not a D&D spell, but I would really love to do the Emperor Palpatine sparky-lightning-fingers thing, and that Force choke that Vader does--just the thing(s) for those who cheese me off.

I just have to ask. What are you going to do with a spell mantle in real life? I mean, it's not like anyone else can cast spells.

And I have to add to that. You people who pick nothing but offensive spells, do you expect to find use for those spells? And if you do end up blasting people around, how long do you think it'll take till you're shot, blown up or stabbed in your sleep?
