Improved Kangaxx

Hi there!

I was wondering, is anyone else using the Improved Kangaxx script? (It isn't downloadable here at SP, as I know)
Well, if not, then you MUST give it a try! An essential upgrade to one of the most popular boss in SoA. It makes the battle wuth Kangaxx VERY interesting, however he will only change in his Demilich form. But he will be a tank!!!
He won't stuck at that crappy Imprisonment anymore, now he has the immense abilities of a true Demilich. He has infinite numbers of many spells, and he uses them well! Here is a little spoiler in advance:
-After becoming Demilich, he shoots off a single Imprisonment and casts Absolute Immunity with Protection from Elements as well as Stoneskin - these protections CAN NOT be removed from him(except stoneskin), one must wait (and survive) until they fade off;
-Now comes his Demilich Howl;
-After this he casts Time Stop;
-During that he summons 4 Mordenkainen's sword, a Phantom Blade, casts Improved haste, Tenser's transformation, Black Blade of Disaster - and he becomes the ultimate fighting machine;
-he kicks your ass;

If you survive this, and manage to beat him to Badly injured:
-He heals himself to Uninjured;
-and starts the second wave, this time with some spells;
-He Casts time stop again, and chooses from 2 different tactics, one of them is absolutely deadly.);
1.way:he repeats the same as above, he turns into a fighting machine;
2.way(your doom):starts casting Horrid Wilting, Lower resist, Power word:Kill without stop - three H.Wilting during a Time Stop, and your'e gone, believe me. If any of your party members goes below 60 Hp, he kills him/her with P.W.:Kill;

However, he is still beatable, but after a MASSIVE fight!

Sounds funny...

But isn't the solution still just to use a protection from magic spell?

 

Interesting. Is this the 3rd edition Version of a demi-lich?

Anyway I agree with headbanger. Protection scrolls against magic and undead. and spell Immunities. And an Improved hasted paladin drinking potion of speed and wearing boots of speed with a +5 sword is always a good investment.

Well, not exactly, I tried it
His attacks in "fighting-mode" dispel ALL magic, even the effect of scrolls. He bite me once, and that protection was gone

And about the paladin - Kangaxx is two times faster than your paladin in Boots of Speed And without the magical protection you are very vulnerable to his attacks - I attacked him with Carsomyr(I used to believe in that 50% magic resistance), but he cast 4 or 5 lower resist on Keldorn(after this he had -128% resist with C.!!!), a Horrid wilting, and a P.Word :Kill. Game over for Keldorn.

So as I said, he is quite challanging.

It makes me ponder. Who actually caged him. They make me shiver. There is always a bigger fish.

Well I have a new advice. run. As in run I mean both the improved haste, boots of speed and potion of speed. IF he is twice as fast, I give up.

I have LOADS of trouble beating him just as he is... is it possible at all to beat him when he's pumped up like that?

 

Heheheheheeeeee, can he see through invisibility? No? Then here comes staff of Magi!

Wait some more... Maybe he's just................. improving.

 

Well, I am positive, he CAN see the invisible, just as any Lich can in the game.
And yes, he is faster, than a character in boots of speed Perhaps Improved Haste...
However, if you menage to keep him away while he is in "Golden-Skull" form(that is the form when he turns himself to melee killing-machine) - with lots of summoned creatures- you can benefit from that Protection from Magic scroll. But I menaged to beat him without even using this scroll, anyway He still has ONE point, where you can trick his magic But the best strategy against him to stay very close, so he won't start using his deadly spells.

And as I said this upgrade isn't downloadable here at SP(why?), but I will post the link (on saturday/sunday) if someone would like to give Mr.Improved Demilich a try

 

I think I would have used someones excellent Ideas and summon lots of creatures. And stay far away in the room. My beserker will take care of the Imprisonment or I'll use one of the scrolls of freedom I get in the underdark. I'll have My cleric and Mages stand and keep summonig creatures. I'll Buy the sling of Everad(sp) and keep shooting waiting for his defences to wear off. And I wont use the protection from Undead untill he has dispelled ALL effects as you say. One thing is that he can see people with Staff of Magi another is that he can't target them with spells. I am sure this Weapon can be very essential in the battle.

Anyway I really don't think you have seen anyone having all three things going at the same time: a PAladin weilding Carsomyr with Boots of speed, Potion of speed, and improved haste. I have said it trice now and I wont say it again.

My first idea was engaging him with my Level 18 sorceress which means Improved Alacrity and Wish are at her hands. Staff of Magi, Robe of Vecna - what a party! No other party members. It's only good ole Kangaxx and her.

Sorry people, I forgot the name of the link
But if you wish to, I can send you the Demilich script(the sript I downloaded was a huge 3,5Meg., and contained many-many scripts, including Kangaxx), which is a little bit less upgraded cersion of Kangaxx, but still MUCH more harder. I tried it today, and it works almost as great as the one I was talking about.

So if anyone needs the script, just ask me here, and I will send it to you via e-mail.
