[IMG] I suppose there's no BG2 player here who doesn't know that Mace of Disruption can kill undead with only one stroke (from now on I'm using verb slay to make that shorter). But there are some more weapons in the game imbued with ability to slay different creatures. And I couldn't find a list of only those weapons, so here it is.
Damn me if I can remember right now where is exact place to find all of them in the game. So don't ask me. Use the search option - there are probably billion of posts with those locations!
Anyway I'm giving you item codes in brackets needed to create them from the console - if you think cheating is cool.

Important: Beside saving throw(s) all weapons test creatures' magic resistance and if it is high the one stroke kill will fail.

    Arrow of Slaying (AROW03)
Slays Ogre Mage upon touch - no save

    Azuredge Axe +3 (AX1H10)
Slays Undead - unless successful saving throw vs paralyze/poison/death (-4 penalty)
    Note:
This item's damage is bugged and it's not corrected in official patch. So, sell it without weeping.

Black Blade of Disaster (BLAKBLAD) - level 9 mage spell
Slays anything - unless successful saving throw vs paralyze/poison/death (+4 bonus)

Blessed Bolt (BOLT08) - this item you can't get without cheating
    Slays Rakshasha - no save

    Crom Faeyr (HAMM09)
Slays Stone Golems, Clay Golems, Brain Golems, Sand Golems, Juggernaut Golems, Bone Golems and Trolls - no save
    Note:
Although it is supposed to kill Ettins with one stroke, trust me, it can't do that (a bug). But that's irrelevant - you can't have that weapon before you kill the only ettin in the game (unless you cheat  ). Maybe it surprises players in ToB if there are Ettins there. Unless BI fixed that in ToB... :(
The extra types of Golems it destroys are included because Brain and Sand Golems are considered as Clay Golems inside the game. Juggernaut and Bone Golems are considered as Stone Golems.

    Drow Scimitar +3 (DWSW1H01)
Slays bards...ARGH! - unless successful saving throw vs spells (-4 penalty)

    Halberd +4: Wave (HALB09)
Slays Fire Elementals, Efreet and Salamanders - no save

    Mace of Disruption +1 (BLUN12)
Slays Undead - unless successful saving throw vs paralyze/poison/death
    Note:
In it's description says that it lowers saving throw of creatures with -4 penalty, but that's not true. It doesn't affect it. I suggest you get this weapone to Cromwell as soon as possible to improve it.

    Mace of Disruption +2 (BLUN25)
Slays Undead - unless successful saving throw vs paralyze/poison/death (-4 penalty)

    Rod of Smiting (RODS04)
Slays any type of Golems - unless successful saving throw vs paralyze/poison/death

    Scimitar +1, Shazzellim (SW1H50)
Slays bards - unless successful saving throw vs spells (-4 penalty)

Short Sword of Backstabbing (STDEATH) - cheat item
Slays anything - no save, but you can't use this item...LOL

    Silver Sword (SW2H15)
Slays opponents with 25% chance - unless successful saving throw vs paralyze/poison/death (-2 penalty)

    Staff of Air +2 (STAF15)
Slays Air Elementals and Aerial Servants - unless successful saving throw vs spells

    Staff of Earth +2 (STAF16)
Slays Earth Elementals and Shambling Mounds - unless successful saving throw vs spells

    Staff of Fire +2 (STAF17)
Slays Fire Elementals and Salamanders - unless successful saving throw vs spells

    Sunstone Bullet +1 (BULL04)
Slays Shadow Altar - no save *evil grin*

Two Handed Sword +3: Harbinger (SW2H07)
Petrifies Ogres, HalfOgres, Ogrillons, Minotaurs, Nishruus and Hakeashars - unless successful ST vs spells
    Note:
This weapon is supposed to petrify only Ogres, however it is not so. Read posts below for more info.

    Bugs, bugs, everywhere...
Yeah, yeah, the damned game is full of bugs. We all know that. And we all hoped that this will be corrected in OFFICIAL patch. But no, it is not corrected. What were they doing there all these years? Keeping the tradition of deceiving customers I suppose...
Also note that any of this is NOT corrected within UNOFFICIAL patch too.

    Bugs:

You can't petrify Minotaurs in Malduf's party (Umar Hills) with Harbinger. These Minotaurs are bugged - or all other Minotaurs in the whole game are bugged. No matter, BI bugs strike again!

One guardian Efreeti (DDGUARD3) in Firkraag's maze cannot be slain with Wave - there is a BI bug that considers this particular creature as Djinni although it is Efreeti. All other Efreet guardians (DDGUARD1-2, 4-6) are made correctly. The same thing is with Efreeti (OBSFIR01) in Plannar sphere - that one is also considered as Djinni unlike all other Efreet in the game. Damn!

When you come to inspect happenings in Druid Grove, you'll stumble upon some party fighthing Trolls. These Trolls (DGTROL01) can't be slain with Crom Faeyr!? Come on, don't give me shit that those few particular Trolls evolved into type resistant to Crom!

There are Ruhks (RAKRUH01) in the game spawned sometimes related to your experience that you can't get down with Blessed Bolts. Although they should be considered Rakshasha, the game thinks those creatures are of no race nor class!? Ok, ok, no Blessed Bolts without cheat, but just imagine the waste if you actually had these bolts and used them...

Finally, do you remember that "hard to kill" vampire Tanova? You'll meet her few times in the game. But in first fight against Bodhi in her lair (chapter 3) this vampire is not considered undead as all other vampires in the game, but as living humanoid?! So your Mace of Disruption or such weapons specialized to deal undead are almost useless against this Tanova (BODTAN). And I was surprised that I actually dealt Bodhi herself much easier... Also note that other versions of Tanova you meet are made correctly as undead (VVTANOV and C6TANOV).

ARGH! These are bugged creatures I spotted on brief look, god only knows how many bugged more are in the game...

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    Last note:
Now it makes me clear why is Haer’Dalis underestimated – those Drow bastards blast him pretty easy. Lesson: don’t take him into Spellhold->Underdark. Unless you think it will be cool to keep him alive there like me
BI hates bards – that’s obvious.

You probably mean Daystar, but it is not the sword that deals the damage but it's special ability (Sunray?) that kills undead.

[IMG] I just finished the underdark with Haer'dalise in my party and I don't think I had to resurrect him even once. I actually don't mind him as a character, his special abilities are surprisingly good.

Sunray is not weapon. Nor weapon created from spell.
This here is a list of slaying weapons. Not slaying spells.

Moeken, thumb up! I've always had him in the party down there too... Black Isle can't prevent me with those lame scimitars!

    Important edit up there:
    Read Staff of Fire again

Most of the weapons listed don't work as they should (according to their description) or have bugs (like Daystar) before you apply the patch. Still, not even the patch fixes Azuredge and Mace of Disruption...

Why is the silver blade a cheat weapon, I mean besides from it being very powerful? There is no cheating involved in getting it after all.

If we are talking about the same blade here, that is :)

You missed that two-handed sword in Ust Natha that petrifies ogres. (I forget its name--it's the one that makes fireballs sometimes when you hit something with it. Pretty useless sword, im-hoe.)

[IMG] 1. Tal, as I promised I'm checking those unofficial fixes. But the fixes are many... I'll leave my final judgment for tomorrow :(

    2. [Edited] Ok, I was wrong that Silver Sword can't be obtained in the game... I completely forgot that it's the one you get from githyanki.
Thanx BTA and Alexa for the note.

    3. What exact sword? I don't remember seeing it in the game... Hmmm, besides - IT PETRIFIES not kills - you can bring ogres back to life after that with Stone to Flesh if you want.

It's called "Harbringer," though it looks like that's actually a typo (it's called Harbinger in the text about it when you right-click"). You can get it in Ust Natha. It's not a very useful weapon.

But it deserves an honorable mention as an instant-kill, because most ogres can't read "stone to flesh" spells. *wink*

Extremist - What do you mean the Silver Sword can't be got in the game itself? Do you mean it's a cheat because Cromwell has to forge it? You get the blade from Saemon Havarian and the hilt from the Githyanki that try to take the blade back...

    [IMG] LOL!

Ok, I'll put it up there, although I don't remember I ever got it...

Besides, it has a damn 5% chance to inflict fireball that hurts everyone around, so I can't suggest it's usage.

    [Edit]

Blame it on my Nameless One like memory...
I completely forgot that Silver Sword is THAT sword...
    Sorry, I'll add it...

"Harbringer" is one of the stupidest weapons in the game, yeah. I don't think I've used it even once. Blame my selectively vise-like memory for even recalling the darn thing...

I think that the monks fist should be mentioned as 1 hit kills here purely for the quivering palm move, just a thought.

[IMG] Don't think Harbinger is stupid weapon - I just discovered it's beautiful wide petrification ability (undocumented of course)... Look up - I edited the list some more! :D :D

The point is in that that there's no "race" nishruu in game files, so nishruus and hakeashars are considered ogres. :D ;)

Tjekanefir, I owe you for this one, at least for pointing me to include this weapon in the list!
    /me shakes hands with Tjekanefir

    No kidding!!

Well, you deserve half the credit on that one, because it never even occurred to me you might be able to petrify those @!$##!! Nishruus with that thing.

I'll have to go swipe it back from the drow merchant I sold it to and take it to the surface to check out. (-:

[IMG] Thank you Extremist. This is indeed interesting research, giving you second thoughts on some of those weapons.

as for Haer'Dalis, he rocks ;) too bad he ain't just a normal bard.

Yeah, IIRC, that was the Daystar special ability spell, and the Lich missed its save vs. death.
