Here is how it works, its very simple: Write the next two lines of the story. Anything can happen its up to you! You cannot post twice in a row. And make you two lines in italics so we can tell them from the rest of the stuff you might want to say

To start it off lets have some Mark Twain:

It was after sun-up, now, but we went right on, and didn't tie up. The king and the duke turned out, by-and-by, looking pretty rusty; but after they'd jumped overboard and took a swim, it chippered them up a good deal.

 

But then a crocodile came along and chased them out of the river and up the bank.

Shouldn't this be in Creativity Surge instead of WhatNots?

 

But alas, the king tripped on a branch that was lying on the bank, and the crocodile closed in...

 

The Duke was not about to see his king crocodile food, and heaved a large boulder on to the reptile's head. The croc writhed and died quickly, leaving the king un-eaten...

The King looked at his shoes and saw that they were all wet and muddy. He commanded that new boots be fashioned, made from . . . .

 

Gopher skin. The duke quickly started looking around for...

 

... the finest cobbler in the land. Eventually, a gnome named Nixus Niblitz answered the Royal call to fashion the boots, demanding 101 albino gophers for raw materials, and payment of 13 ... ?

Dyslectic gibberlings. A gnomish substitute for money ever since...

 

... 1179 DR, when Div Jansen became allergic to gold and tried to claim payment in nubile wenches. Personally, a nice plate of turnips sounds much better to me, but then Div always was an odd sort. Anyway, the rest of the story goes that the noble objected and delivered a crate containing a semantically-challenged gibberling instead. Div got quite the surprise when he jimmied open the crate and instead of a comely lass he found an annoyed little monkey-thing. Puts me in the mind of Aunt Amunda, actually.... Oh yes, where was I? Anyway, after the little thing had bitten Div's face off, the rest of the family managed to tame the thing, and found it made an excellent manservant. Or should that be gnomeservant? Which puts me in the mind of the time that Uncle Scratchy... What? Oh! Yes, the king! Well...
