Who is your fav NPC and why...

My personal Fave is Keldorn...

if you don't have ypur main character as a Paladin, he is the only NPC to be able to use Carsomyr. He is also flipping great with a crossbow and has some great abilities including high numbers of dispels and true sights for all those asshole mages that decide to make themsleves invisible. His only downside is having a low Dexterity... but easily fixed with gauntlets of dexterity! (where are they again i have somehow forgotton!!!!)

And who said Cernd is pants??? I have seen him in my bros party and he generally kicks ass. Having lots of priest spells and getting to turn into a Werewolf is kool. At lev13 he gets to turn into a Greater Werewolf, which makes him count as having magic weapons... so you can get him up front!

Anomen is also another of my personal faves... i luv Clerics it has to be said... and Anomen is one of the most powerful i have used and is much more useful in combat than Viconia.

 

I agree somewhat. Keldorn's a pretty decent chap for an ass-sucking paladin for one thing. His dispel magic ablility is an asset for any party and with the gauntlets of dexterity, he just becomes even more badass.
Of course, carsomyr makes him really powerful. Cernd is really quite a good character. with his werewolf form, you have a good spellcaster/fighter. But i always tend to take jaheira over him so me and viconia can taunt her about khalid. Anomen, however, sucks as a fighter compared to all the other fighter characters and sucks as a cleric compared to viconia. besides, he's so annoying you just have to kill him. Edwin has a much agreeable personality than Anomen. Oh yeah, and Edwin's THE ultimate npc ever.

 

Anomen is wikked don't diss him... besides... if you play a female NPC he is a LOT less annoying i can tell ya. He then becomes Lawful Good and shuts up moaning!

Viconia however... never stops moaning and harassing everyone... including your MAIN character. B%$&ch that she is!

 

Jaheira is my favourite. I like the way she is so amzingly mean to everyone except the protogantist.

 

Evil NPC's never moan if you got a reputation of 5 or less.

 

Edwin is definitely my favorite.

Followed closely by, of course, Minsc and Boo.

c'ept for Aerie, don't take her in your party she sticks the whole game with low lvl. spells!

 

Is there really any use for Cernd ? Except his "turn into werewolf" thing, all his stats are really bad including his wisdom, i think.

 

If you consider 18 a bad stat, you must really like shadowkeeper.

 

Well My fav is definitely Minsc just for the humor. In chpt4 you have to convince someone you are insane to get into spellhold, "Minsc talk to this man!"

Personally I usally take
1- Minsc (he is rock hard and very funny)
2-Jahiera (I could not drop her, her please don't let me go speech got to me) Plus a good romance here!
3-Yoshimo/Imoan- You NEED Imoan for the story line. And you conviently loose Yoshimo just before you get her back!
4-Anomen- Aerie's multi-class means she does not gain cleric levels fast enough. You need a cleric! Anomen is the only "good" cleric! I managed to complete the lower tombs in the graveyard district just w/ Yoshimo and Anomen.
5- The final Character comes from the follwing list
Nalia- I orignally took her until I got fed up with her ignorance and lack of character.
Mazzy- Someone to wield the other (no-ammo) short bow with very good accuracy starts with good magic items but ultimately I dropped her for...
CERND!- I know everyone thinks he is crap. Get him to level 13. His shapeshifting gives him Str-21 Dex-20 COn-25!!!!!!!! Also a 3rd healer!
Keldorn- is good for using the Casomar +5 (unless you main Character is a paladin)
I would recomend that you change you 5th Npc depending on the class of your amin character 9mine was a Kensai duelled to Mage at lvl 9)

 

Minsc is definitely a bad ass, and probably my favorite NPC. I have him setup with 2 *'s for axe, long sword, two handed sword, two handed weapon style and two weapon style. Makes him a very versatile fighter.

 

Here is what I think of some of the characters.

Minsc-rock hard essential character for good or neutral main character party. Even funnier with Lilarcor.
Jaheira-competent fighter and druid, not amazing but she is useful nonetheless. Can be quite annoying with some of her moans.
Imoen- Very cool character, but I prefer to keep Jan.
Yoshimo- Descent thief, I'd like to see what he's like as a dual classed fighter/thief, I mean he has 17 strength.
Aerie-Good combination of classes being a mage/cleric, since these are fairly essential classes. Can be very annoying though.
Nalia- annoying bitch, if I was chaotic evil I'd murder her as soon as I met her. Crappy thief but good mage.
Anomen- pretty useless at first, but becomes quite powerful at higher level.
Jan- my faviroute charcter. Hilarious, cool inventions, pretty wikked mage and thief.
Mazzy- cool archer ban become really cool with long swords, give her Cuthroat and Gesen bow, got a few useful special abilities.
Cernd-Cool as werewolf, has wisdom 18, important priest character to have. Helped extremely at killing the black dragon in HUMAN form.

This is what I think of all the charcter I have tried.

 

My favorite has to be Korgan!

A psychotic evil dwarf that killed his old party members because they were severly injured or pissed him off, bickers continously with Jahiera (but when you are given the oppertunity to tell them both off, you find out its more of a case of brother/sister arguing thats just for fun on both thier parts - the battle of wits so to say), find Jan's continuous story telling hilarious, yet has a soft spot for children (Insults the slaver leader finishing his insult with "even I don't approve of what your doing to the women and children", and swears to Jan that he'll help teach Jan's ex'x hubby a lesson if anything else happens to the kid - hope theres anouther part to that burried in there somewhere), Insults Vicky and lays into her about her clan (claiming to have sacked thier stronghold at just before the end of her clan and pissing on the bodies).

Plus, he is an unbelievable tank, red dragon armor, dragon shield, boots of speed, gauntlets of Dex, girdle of hill giant strength and a selection of +3 axes, the only thing that slows him down is Improved Mantle

 

BG 1: Khalid. Has fun lines
and is a very powerfull figther but most
importantly he has characther.
Jaheira was cool too. Kick's butt just
armed with a quarterstaff and has lot of
characther too. Both Minsc and Edwin
where fun.
BG 2: Edwin! He has fun comments, good
lines and there is so many fun scenes.
When you meet his girlfriend, when he
turns into a woman, when Salvanas
trie to seduce him or when he argues
with the rest of the party.
Jaheira is still a favorite.
Minsc is still fun.
Yoshimo is cool and has humour also this
irritates Edwin and Korgan.

 

Forgot torment!
I really like Morte because he is SO IRRITATING!!!
Comments everything. Is it possible not to
love that guy?
Then there is Annah. Has humour and many
interesting comments.
My favorite scene is (spoiler)

.when Annah falls in love with the main characther. It's sweet in a really gross way.
And then Morte enters the conversation
with another funny line.
Gawd I'd like to see this game as a movie.

 

Minsc and Viconia. Without a doubt!

Minsc has great dialogue, and he cracks me up in general! I loved him in BG1, and he's even better now!

Viconia is a hottie, and now that she's up in level, she is one bad priestess! I just started the underdark, and I can't wait for her to start swinging Crom Feyr!
