I'm rather fond of the "Squirreled Away" approach.

Greater Malison, Doom, Lower Resistance, anything to drop their saves and magic resistance, then fire off Polymorph Other. Sure, Firkraag is the toughest damn rodent you've ever seen, but six armoured, well-armed and buffed characters surrounding and beating up a lone squirrel with massive two-handed swords and unloading enough spells to commit a war crime into it? That's comedy.

Saving every 20-25 (well maybe a little longer) seconds each in a diferent slot - I have over 80 for my current game.
I always cast a bazillion little spells on my party before a big battle (you know like bless, barkskin, chant etc.) multiple times on my main tank - even if they don't stack.

I like to use up one of my char's Detect Evil spells in the middle of a city, and then proceed to kill everyone that shows up in my screen as evil.

It at least gives that useless spell something go do. It can't just sit in my character's special abilities area forever unused.

I never save, except when stopping playing. Of course, there are still autosaves as well.

If a character dies, rather than just reloading, I trudge over to a temple and raise them. If they're chunked, as long as I get the items back, I generally don't load then either.

I rarely take a cleric or druid, which makes healing a problem. I just carry round loads of healing potions in a potion case.

None of those are bizarre at all, just uncommon.

Sometimes i never let myself reload, at all, ever. If i'm at a crucial point in the romance and she dies, no reload. You just ahve to move on. It can make the game much more fun.

I find it pretty amusing to charm enemy mage, if alone that is, and throw away all the spells so they are either cancelled or used at nothing important. Then when he's outta spells, duel with the staffs!

I prefer to divide and conquer. My thief often sneaks up to a group and inches out to the point where only one foe is sighted. Then I have someone with a bow come in and pop the foes one by one. This was more effective in BGI, but it still works. Keldorn complains every now and then that "surely there is something better I could be doing" than waiting around.

Or I sneak up and come out of shadows so that the foe sees me, and then I lead it into an ambush. My fighter/thief has the most kills and has brought in the most experience points, by far. The next time I play, I plan to focus on a mage, because it will completely change my style of play.
