Mace of Disruption - Where is it?

    Remove all ads!
    Once coated with the proper substance -> Illithium, it does make you immune to level drain. Try it out.

    OK, I though about the +1 version of the Mace :). I didn't try the +2 version, I prefer to give the Illithium to Sarles to complete this Quest without lie ;).

    Another power comes with the +2 version, or is that all ?

    I may be mistaken Syl, but the point of becoming proficient with various weapons is to have more options. I was using 'undead hunter' as a descriptive term, not as your character type.

    When I fight undead ('specially vamps or wraiths), I use the mace. When I fight other monsters, I use other weapons. I agree that +2 is pretty wimpy with the likes of Carsomyr and Crom floating around (or the flail for that matter) but for me it serves it's purpose nicely.

    Negative Plane Protection and Daystar is all you need for Undead. I don't use any other weapons but the Flail so all my points are put towards that and weapon - shield use.

    [​IMG] New to this fellow adventurers. Question: I have the Illithium Ore AND the Mace of Disruption +1. When I give these to Cromwell, he fails to recognize them as items he can fashion a weapon from. What's going on?

    There is another weaponsmith that creates the new Mace of Disruption. I think he is located in Waukeen's Promenade. Not sure which one though. Maybe someone else may be able to tell you who it is.

    I have a question. What if you already did the church quest, and gave the illithium to the artist guy? Can you get more to coat the mace?

    Personally I use the mace all the time vs. undead. Sometime you hit them and they just die. Pretty handy. I use that and the crom faeyer hammer. Daystar is cool too but my cleric can't use that. ;)

    OK - First Cromwell is the guy who makes the Mace of Disruption +2 for you (at least he was for me). Second you must have the Illithium Ore not the Illithium Alloy. Third, if you gave the Illithium Ore to the artist you are SOL (unless you hack the game with SK or something).

    [​IMG] What's your experience with the mace of disruption?? Does it really destroy all the nice armor, gems, gold, scrolls, potions, weapons, ......... of your victim??? I don't wanna seem greedy or downright lowly. I don't kill for the loot. But an adventurer's gotta live somehow!! And if you don't play solo, you got a whole party to dress 'n' feed. The mere thought that all that (in parts) invaluable stuff going up in smoke chills me to the bone. :(
    I never use disruption, unless I am sure the target is sure to be a pennyless looser (like them nasty vamps, who never donated a single cent to my finances).

    In my experience, there was no difference between killing with the Mace of Disruption and killing them in a more conventional manner. Disintegration is the only spell that I know of that destroys some of the victim's items.

    [​IMG] I believe that was only happening before the patch. If you install the patch, they shouldn't be able to destroy any of your items.

    [​IMG] The Mace is very effective against undead, so it's not a weapon you usally fight with but that you use for some situations. And isn't it cool; a good cleric that hates undead and holds the Mace of Disruption, killing that skeleton warriors???

    Bye the way, when you give the fake ore to Sarlas, he'll discover it and leave. When you go back to the templeand tell them what happened, they will give you also xp and the next quest, only no money, and they get a little mad on Sarlas. So maybe it's still the best thing to to for you can get the mace of disruption +2 and only get a little less XP.
