    I went diving in Greece when I went on holiday there...it was fun, and I really enjoyed it, but I'm not comfortable in the sea, or in large bodies of water generally so its a bit out of the question for me. But the water was nice and clear so it was ok.

    I still have the little PADI card thing they gave us at the end of it :p

    It sounds interesting, but after having known I swam with sharks off the coast of Florida, there's no way I will ever get into the ocean again!

    Scuba diving is awsome. I've been on two "trail dives" that lasted an hour each in a 15 foot deep pool. I want to go scuba diving off the coast of Hawaii so bad. That's our #1 activity planned for our honymoon! :thumb:

    Scuba diving has gotten a bad rep lately thanks to Hollywood...but that shouldn't scare people off. :nono: :rolling:

    Trail diving? Hawii sounds good for diving, but i still reckon SE Asia holds the crown, the place i really want to go is Great Barrier reef for a live-a-board or the Red Sea, which ever is cheaper/more convient, right now it looks like Australia, as i might be going out there after i graduate. What i really want to do though is combine diving with my biology degree im currently studying :)

    @Defspeal
    Dry suits may cost alot to buy, but you can hire them from your local dive center quite cheaply, and they usually organize the dives anyway so its all added into the package.

    @Kitrax
    Yeh i hated open water seeing as it messed up the true story, and it made diving look very unorganized and dangerous, when usually mistakes like this are VERY rare, i dived on boats with 20+ people on them, and no one was misplaced, the key is to make yourself known to at least 2 other dive pairs, so that someone will notice your absence, and also dont get big headed about your diving ability, the dive master knows best.

    [IMG] Is scuba diving considered to be a sport? If so, we'll be moving this thread...

    Hmm, yeh i suppose you could consider it a sport, but i prefer to count it as a hobby, sport is far to serious, and its not like you get "Professional Scuba Diving competions" but if you want you can move it :p

    No...It's more of a recreational activity or maybe a hobby. I would classify it as a sport if there were scuba diving races, or the like, but as it is, I just can't see it as a sport.

    But let us not forget that it is still a thrilling experience! :thumb:
