Does Drizzt have the same weapons as in BG1 because they will not be that powerful in BG2. And does he have the panther figurine.

 

Silver Dragon, take it from one who suffered IMMENSELY during my first game of BG2... Getting Drizzt's weapons is NOT worth it. Only because the game designers coded in a 'game cheat' named Malchor Harpell. He's a wizard (some fanatic friend of Drizzt) that hunt's you down shortly after your final battle with Bohdi. Which means you have all of Drizzt & party’s wonderful items for a fraction of Chapter 6.

He then takes ANY items that you have that belong to Drizzt or his friends. If you get ‘mouthy with him’ or are caught a second or third time he 'imprisons' your main character. No spell turning, no anti magic scroll, no beserker rage will protect you from his 'Ultimate Imprison Spell'. Which ends your game... leaving you to reload a saved game.

Can you just kill him before he talks to you. Because I would like to give them to Jahirea to Dual Wield.

 

Easy answer. NO.

You cannot kill him. He is a 'game cheat' that will end your game. It SUCKS!!! You just don't know how irritating that scenario was for me. I had just bought BG2, imported my BG1 character and played all the way through thinking I was going to find AWESOME Scimitars. Well, no AWESOME Scimitar's are in the game except for... yep Drizzt's. So I fought him -at the time it was a spectacular battle (now a cakewalk) and finally beat him. Got the scimtars and enjoyed them for mere moments it seemed.

Malchor Harpell will spawn on you around the time you leave Bohdi's lair. A dialouge screen will immediately appear as you *explain* yourself to him. I researched many a boards and there was no way to fight him. I even managed to pause the game to allow my mage WITH the robe of Venca to successfully cast POWER WORD SILENCE to no avail. He's immune. And imprisoned my main character. I tried (stubbornly) many ways but each to no avial. It's design code that does not allow for anything except pain and humiliation. If you want Jaheria to dual wield scimitars the only good ones out there are Belm(+2 Scimitar +1 extra attack) and Rashod's Talon(+2 Scimitar). Both are acquired on the Trademeet/Druid grove quest.

 

Just a question for cheaters like myself. If you went ahead and imported frostbrand for BG to give to your fighter/druid and did not kill Drizzt this time around, will the mage spawn. At this point it would suck to knock Levathia down to Rashad's Talon. Also to note, Jahiera cannot use Defender for some reason. I thought it would be cool for a fighter/druid to dual wield with the two swords, but it apears druids can't use Defender. Does anyone know of a good reason why not?

 

Defender can only be used by those of GOOD alignments. Jaheria (Druids) are True Nuetral. - I should've recalled that in my earlier response but... good catch.

As far as using 'Shadow Keeper'? I dunno. It may be possible, but if there is a 'trigger' in the game... rest assured Malchor Harpell will come a dancin into your nightmares. Give it a shot. It may actually work. Even if the scimitars are taken from you, just add them again. Let us know how it works, I'd be curious for one to see if it does work.

 

About good scimitars; there is a +3 scimitar available in the Underdark if you're not opposed to a little breaking and entering.

I recall a post about a +3 Scimitar called 'Water's Edge' or something. I never found any post or walkthru that revealed the location of this item. Is this the +3 Scimitar that you are referring to? Just curious. Let me know the whereabouts of this item in the Underdark... or at least a 'clue' if you can recall where you picked it up from.

 

Apparently it is in Underdark in the house with the lich.
I can't say I recall seing it but from the sound of it is just a normal +3 Scimitar with no extras so it might not have struck me as a major item (or I'm blind as a bat)

 

I killed Drizzt's and sold off his stuff to a merchant. But I kept one Item and then Malchor came to take Drizzt's stuff off me when I came out of Bohdi's Lair. But he only took one of the Items. I then Purchase the Items back off the merchant and I never saw this Malchor guy again.

 

Draco, yes, the Water's Edge. It's not in the lich's tower, but you have to have been there and acquired a wardstone for a certain house . And it's just a +3 scimitar with no extras, as Kyrn said.

 

I think when I play through again I will kill Drizzt, take his stuff, and use that cheat to kill anyone under your curser on Malchor.

 

I swear I have either dropped or missed more items while in the Underdark. D@mn it! This is getting really bad. So now I miss a smitar +3 that I could have my fighter/druid dualing with? Wonderful. Ah well. Anyway, I never noticed defender could only be used by good characters. And to think I had been pondering over this little question for quite some time now. Thanks.

 

Well, Draco, I'm bumping this post up just for you. I've finally made it to the point in my game where Malchor Harpell spawns(see earlier reply from you about why this post is for you). Just to be safe, before the fight with Bhodi, I left Frostbrand in my sphere and used Belm. Later, after I retrieved it, I exited the sphere, and sure enough, Malchor spawned. But oddly enough, he didn't do or say anything. Since then, he has be spawning everytime I enter a new outside area, and then just standing around. But the one drawback to this is that it apears my character is always in dialog mode in the screnes where he spawns. This seems no affect nothing but the autosave feature. An inconvenience, but I have managed to beat those do-gooders at Bioware in their own game. HAHAHAHAHAAA.
