Boring day at work... bleh.

I was going to go to dinner and movie with a friend tonight, but we both aren't feeling up to it, so we postponed 'til another day.

Mt grandmother had an MRI done earlier this week to help determine the exact cause of her mental deterioration.

 

You know in many ways, people, posting in the Random Babble is like making love to a beautiful woman...

Gotta love Swiss Toni.

 

I'm stuck at school for hours doing nothing.

DAY OFF tomorow oh the joy

 

Went to a wedding yesterday. Yet another cousin younger than me getting hitched. Once again, the oldest on both sides still single...

 

Say Ocean's 13 tonight, and I have to say, I was impressed. I went in thinking it was going to be like the second one, which was the biggest piece of crap I've seen in a while, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you liked the first, see this one, although it is not as tricky at the end.

 

My sis impressiojn of the movie was positive as well. I find her approval reliable on movies, in the sense that I usually like what she likes, even though it's not neccessarily the other way around.

I guess I'll give it a shot.

Finished Buffy Season 5. Not bad, Season 2 is still the best so far for me.

I don't work.

Got a nice pair of sunburns yesterday which make sleeping difficult, but I have a swan feather so it was worth it.

 

Yeah, I've been teetering on answering the phone with "Boiler Room" for years now.

The most entertaining ideas for messing with them I've seen (heard) come from Tom Mabe.

But the BEST I've heard was when someone from a carpet cleaning company called:

Tom: Hello.
Salesman: Hi, I'm Dewey with <bleep> Carpet Cleaning-
T: Oh, THANK GOD - I've got blood EVERYWHERE! On the drapes, on the furniture, all over the carpet-
S: Um. Uh, sir?
T: I need you to get over here immediately. You gotta help me, man.
S: Well...well, we offer-
T: Lemme ask you something; the law says when a stranger breaks into your house, and you shoot them, that's okay. Does that apply to a family member, d'you think?
S: I'm...not sure...
T: What size shoes do you wear? Oh, when you come, are you gonna have a big truck?
S: Well...they will have-
T: What 'they', Dewey? I need YOU - you, you-
S: I'm sorry, sir; I don't clean the carpets, I'm just a telemarketer-
T: Aw, right; you're just a <bleep> telemarketer. Um, I gotta go; bye. <click>

BUT...that's not all; Tom gets a call a few minutes later:

Tom: Mabe residence.
Salesman's Supervisor: Mr. Mabe? This is <iforgethername> with <bleep>. Uh, yeah hi {you HAVE to hear her inflection - she just denotes SOOO much uneasiness and curiosity at the same time }
T: Oh, hey there.
SS: Well, my agent came to me and explained that you had a very unusual stain that you wanted to get out. Uh, did you want us to call someone for you?
T: Oh! Oh, that - no...I just cut myself shaving, y'see, and it got a little out of control, that's all.
SS: But, Mr. Mabe-
T: No, it's all right-
SS: No, Mr. Mabe-
T: Okay, bye now! <click>

(then, when she called back again he apparently explained things to her and got both her and Dewey's permission to use the recording he made.)
