I want to try a part of mixed alignments, good to evil, and I'm wondering what would be a good set up for this?

    What I'm thinking is:
    me - cavalier
    Anomen
    Jaheira
    Edwin
    Korgan
me - swash buckler/fighter multi (I dislike all the NPC thieves, so I prefer myself).

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    You
    Edwin
    Viconia
    Keldorn
    Valygar
The bard with the funny name

Try that, make sure you have the happy party mod installed or your NPC's will kill each other.

I ain't gonna put in any mods, but... I also don't want party members to kill eachother, (that's why I didn't include minsc, he's my favorite).

Oh and Jaheira is a must, I've never gone through her romance, so I thought I prolly should. (I actually haven't finished any romances :( )

The bard with funny name is Haer'Dalis I guess... considering the fact there is only one bard in BGII.

If you bring Vicionia and Keldorn, Keldorn will eventually go hostile. I found out in one of my first times playing. Was just gonna go on Firkraag..

Viconia and Keldorn don't always turn hostile. It's a random event.

Eh? Really? Because when you rescue Viccy, Keldorn is the one who says, "We cannot let her just go, she's beautiful" or something along those lines. Maybe if you do his quest and make him give up on his wife or something, he'll actually get together with Viccy?

Am I the only one that cannot imagine Keldorn saying such a thing? He's a paladin!! I know that Minsc says you rescued her, so you should bring her into the group to keep her safe; Aerie all but wigs out at the idea; Jaheira isn't fond of Viconia, but lets you decide; but the thought of Keldorn saying anything even remotely like that is hard to fathom.

I think it is actually Anomen that says that, not Keldorn.

Oh yeah, I think so too, my bad, I keep confusing myself between what npc's say!

But I've now decided to go with:
    Me - Human Kensai/Mage Dual
    Edwin
    Keldorn
    Korgan
    Jaheira
    Me - Half-Orc thief/cleric

Heh, it's going to be an interesting adventure withthis group!

i say ditch the cavalier and bring that fighter\thief instead. (dual class swashie\fighter does well too).

give the open spot to keldorn or anyone else.
jan is a good choice, his dialogues is hilarious.

    I find it more fun to play with Jan and Haer'Dalis. If there are any other chaotic neutral characters, then get them too. My ultimate roleplaying party would b;

    Me - blade
    Haer'Dalis
    Jan
Edwin (will sub imoen, only good for Edwina quest)
    Viconia
    Keldorn
Also good is Korgan/Mazzy instrad of keldorn/Viconia, although it depends on if you want to romance. Having only one good character and the rest evil makes for much amusement...

I totally agree with Elthorado, Chaotic neutral is the best alignment and provides the best NPC;s and PC's. How could you not like Jan and Haer'Dalis?

On the mixing alignments- I never seem to mix alignments. I always play either a predominantly evil or good party- does anyone else do this too? Or are your choices based on character preference or power?

Mixed parties? Just for having Korgan and Viconia in a good party? Nah, I don't subscribe to it. If you play evil, then play evil, otherwise play good. Believe me, it's easier to fill the blanks in your party with generated-by-yourself character than trying to combine good-bad alignments.

ok ok, I don't want many nuetrals, like I said, I'm trying a party of good-evil characters, not filling gaps, or asking for great banter, (I hate the bard and I hate Jan, both of them are useless and sucky, and annoying !!! I find the Evil characters to have great banter, I don't need to make the game harder by using weak chars.

I've decided on my party, and so far it's working great, all my characters are the strongest of their kind, they work well together despite being of opposite alignments :p

I'm not throwing in any big role playing elements into this either, so don't be telling me what things are like in pnp... I already know... this isn't pnp ;) . Keldorn has been an effective party member because Edwin and Jaheira both cannot dispel, (I don't want them to, having them use more usefull spells since Keldorn has a better dispel), and he's a great fighter. Jaheira is usefull at getting rid of cloud effects and tanking, my cleric is awsome, the idea of a half orc cleric/thief alone is kinda humerous, even moreso since he's huge and hides damn well :D Can't wait to get him skin armor!!
