What levels should my characters be at if Ive just killed Bodhi for the second time? I tried to kill the Shadow Dragon yesterday and it wiped the floor with me!

 

depends how ya played it out, i was about leve; 14-17 if you are a multi or dual class usually about 13-16 depending on the dual class or multi classes...

 

Er I play a single class, no kit ranger the problem with the dragon is probably just me being really bad at fighting tho..

 

Hmmm...I beat the Shadow dragon at lvl 12 (Mage). 'Course, it cost me Minsc and Yoshimo...but i just resurrected them.

 

This is a really tough question. It all depends on what you've done before killing Bohdi. I've already killed the Shadow Dragon and the Red Dragon, and I'm only just going to Spellhold now. You might want to just power up a bit doing as many quests as you can if you're still being killed easily.

 

I beat the Shadow Dragon and Firkraag at level 11-12.
Awfully easy really.

 

Ive done all of the quests in Athkathla that i could find except for the Lich. Ive done Trademeet, the D'Arnise Hold and Umar Hills i cant really find ny more quests to do

 

I was only level 7 mage/fighter when i finished spellhold...lol

i have not done any dragons yet though?

 

level 7? lowest ive ever done it as was a mage/theif and i was level 8/10 when i got to spellhold.

 

I dunno i killed all but 2 guys but i did it...lol just resurrected them all ...

really wish they hadn't made imoen a mage/thief... want to turn her back to a thief...LOL

 

isnt there some sort of hack program you can download for that?

 

chances are if your cheating you have already beaten the game once or maybe even 2 times before you decided to get everything done in 1 shot...

 

I already became level 8 in Irenicus' dungeon, and I started at level 7, how in the world can you possibly be in spellhold if your level 7, I know I couldn't...

 

I killed with my multiplayer-group the dragons, my characters where lvl 10 and 11. Just use the right weapons and right tactics. Killing Bodhi isn't easy, my advice: first, play a lot of quests for XP and good weapons before rescueing Imoen.

 

I killed him on my 3rd quest.
I didnt cast any spells, I just rushed him and lucked out with high damage rolls. He died in a few seconds.
If you can hit them before they get thier protectives up, dragons can be pretty easy.
I should point out that I reloaded the shadow dragon fight 2 or 3 times. I killed him each time, but someone in my party would die. Finally I got frustrated with having to cast an arsenal of protective spells, and just rushed him.

I know that the difficulty of the battles is partly determined by your parties level, but does that affect the level of tough monsters like the dragons and liches?

You said that you have completed all of the quests you could find. You probably have done these but you didn't mention them and they are quite big quests:

The unseeing eye - go to the temple district and talk to the people near Helm's temple I think.
The Planer Sphere - talk to the wizard in the government building

You could also flick through some of the walkthrough on this site to see if there are any quests you missed.

Good luck with the dragons. I had a terrible time too. I got him by casting lots of lower resistance and magic missiles. And a big chunk of luck I think.

 

I killed the Shadow Dragon with the following party:

Breegar (Lvl 11 Fighter with Lilarcor)
Khalid (Lvl 11 Fighter with Blade of Roses)
Minsc (Lvl 11 Ranger Dualling Flail of Ages and Wyverns Tail)
Jahiera (Lvl 9 Fighter/Lvl 12 Druid with the Staff of Rynn +4)
Dynahier (Lvl 9 Invoker Dualled to 11 Cleric with the Robe of Vecna)
Nalia (Lvl 4 Thief Dualled to Lvl 12 Mage with the Robe of the Good Arch-Magi)

The way to defeat the Shadow Dragon is to have the Wardstone... gang up your fighters around him and start to bash. I got everyone bashing at him until the thing did Wing Buffet... at that point he cast Protection from Magic Weapons... so i got Dynahier to throw in a Breach spell... simple... and my fighters bashed the cack outta him. The only prepartion spell i did before the fight was Haste. And the only spell i cast in the fight was the Breach spell...

Dragons can be beaten without Lower Resistance and Greater Malison... honest

 

I never liked Dynaheir...
I killed her in BG1 so I could keep Edwin.
The only thing unusual about it, was that Minsc even helped killing her!
I felt a little guilty when, when you start the game, Minsc was almost crying because evil people killed Dynaheir... !

Do you remember where you picked up the Blade of Roses? I found it many moons ago with an old party, but my newer {more sucessful} party hasn't come across it, and I can't for the life of me remeber where I found it. Any help would be appreciated.
