NWN2 Patch 1.02.809 Goes Live

    Executive Producer Darren Monahan from Obsidian has said this:

    Hi everyone!

    I'm pleased to announce that v1.02.809 is now live! Just a reminder, this version is just a hotfix to address the issue with companions wreaking some havoc on cutscenes and scripted events. This also includes updated multiplayer applications to the same version. We did fix one issue with the Server Monitor Console, where it would be possible for it to not run properly on Athlon XP's.

    Stay tuned for more news on our 1.03 patch - that one includes a lot of bug fixes, improvements and even some new features (particularly on the DM Client side... database support, anyone? )

    I would also like to take a moment to invite you to check out our mirror sites who have been helping to distribute the patches!

    Beware these new 1.02 patches. I just updated and now my game wont even load. The splash screen goes up but then nothing happens. Do Not Update (to this patch) if things are working fine!

    EDIT:
    In fact, the problem is so bad Obsidian released a downgrade patch
    here

    [​IMG] This is supposed to be the fixed 1.02 patch... it was pulled previously exactly for the reasons you state. Did you update your game before (with the old 02), or now that this supposedly fixed version is out?

    I had updated before and had the misfortune of hitting the update button again. Things went from perfectly fine and stable to completely unplayable. Until that revert patch came out i was rather pissed considering I cant download any of the patches unless its through the update button. If i'd had a copy of the old 1.02 i could have reinstalled that. Instead, my only options were 1.0 and the automatically updated 1.02... What happened to the good old days of the gaming company posting the patches in a straight forward fashion so we could access them? Instead, the main NWN2 website is useless and Atari has no mention of any patches being available.

    Tal, I don't suppose you could post the patches (as you receive them to mirror) so we can download them independently of the game update button? At least then we could have available backups on our HDDs for when the developers screw things up.

    Celesialraven, the autopatch and installer patches are different... and Obsidian hasn't released any patches yet that you could download and install independently (the "classic" way of the IE patches).

    Thus far they've been concentrating on the autopatch patches only, though initially the plan was to release both kinds simultaneously. I imagine that the problems with the autopatches have prevented them from working on the installer patches yet.

    But as soon as those become available, you can be sure that they will be available from SP for download.
