    Computer and Video Games have previewed Neverwinter Nights 2, Obsidian's sequel to BioWare's Neverwinter Nights. The review is short and informative, so I recommend reading it in full. Here's a snip:

    As usual in such sequel affairs, it does indeed look better than ever. Being developed by Obsidian (who also developed KOTOR2, BioWare's other unwanted baby) and using an entirely rebuilt graphics engine, the game not only looks fantastic, but sticks faithfully to the type of gameplay that made the original as popular as it was. NWN2 takes some obvious cues from KOTOR2, such as the inclusion of a third-person camera (making this far more appealing to newcomers), the way you influence your companions and even simple things like how the camera will show the NPC you're talking to, along with the familiar-looking list of dialogue options underneath. You'll also be able to take control of your companions directly, and, depending on your interactions with them, new quests and story arcs can open up.

    I've played KotOR 2 and enjoyed it a lot. There's no agreement among players as to whether Obsidian is capable of filling BioWare's shoes but it clearly has a lot of potential and a solid technique. I'm looking forward to seeing in Neverwinter Nights 2 what worked in KotOR 2. Actually, when playing KotOR 2, I often caught myself thinking how nice it would be to play a conventional quasi-mediaeval fantasy game using the same engine. I'm looking forward to seeing Obsidian's first totally own roleplaying game when it has the capital to start such a project.

    Read the whole thing at Computer and Video Games.

    Uiiäääh.. Kotor 2 was my biggest dissapointment, ever. Great start good middle but the most horrible ending in my gaming history.

    ...I don't trust him after this sentence...

    @Exor

    Maybe you ought to read the article in full. This last sentence from it sums it up nicely:
