Which Stronghold?

    [​IMG] I'm playing through again and this time I've chosen a Cleric/Ranger. Which stronghold should I take. I know what comes with the cabin, but is the temple experience worth anything?

    [​IMG] Yeah, the thief gets the guild as a stronhold. I was wondering if anybody had taken the cleric stronghold. I read that the cleric gets special abilities or powers as he maintains the temple. Is that true? And is it worth it?

    [​IMG] AFAIK the cleric gets no special powers or other character improvements.

    Maybe someone mixed that up with Anomen's quest?

    i have never experienced the Cleric quests, you should try them anyway, seems as you have already done the Ranger ones. ;)

    Nalias is the fighter stronghold, so if your 1/2 orc is a fighter then I guess so.

    It is possible to receive 2 guilds (I dunno if this is a bug though) as my fighter/thief was given both the thief and fighter strongholds.

    [​IMG] Meldronus - I don't think I've read anyone really doing all the cleric quests. Obviously it's not a real popular class (though I don't konw why not! Praying for people is just as much fun as smashing them with a two handed sword).

    Go for it, and then fill us in. Also, go ahead and try for the two stronghold things. It worked for a ton of people in the forum.

    [​IMG] I think I did all of the Cleric quests. I am a Ranger/Cleric, and earned the cabin and then worked hard for all of the Cleric quests but the Head guy in the Temple of Lothander just says "I'm sorry you chose to walk apart from us, you would have made a good Cleric" or something like that. I was like wait up! I am a Cleric. Can't you see my impressive collection of maces and flails? I was a little irked that I didn't get the Cleric stronghold. I had soe sermons ready and everything. Plus I love the music. Oh well. I guess I'm freelance.

    I did all the cleric quests with a Cleric/Ranger, I just did the wrong temple. I went to the Helm temple to do the quests, but when I finished I couldn't get the temple because I'm Lawfull Good and Helm is neutral.

    After that I tried the Lathander temple, but they didn't had any quests for me because I was involved with the Helm temple.

    So always do the temple quests of your own alignment!!!

    P.S. B.B.Bert, it is not a bug
    and orkrist, Lothander was from BG1 and not a god

    [​IMG] You can't do the cleric stronghold because you need to be a specialty priest, lathander for good helm for neutral etc, I did the quests and they were much more chalenging than the other strongholds, not in fighting but you had to think what to do,

    being a taalos preitst is good as you get to kill someone then take in a disbeliver (another quest latter) for the reward ;)

    [​IMG] Do you really need to be a specialty cleric to get a cleric stonghold? I imported my DC fighter/cleric from BG1 and my second class can't be a kit. I'd hate to miss out on a cleric stonghold because of that.

    The temple you go to is based on your alignment, not on your specialty. Lathander is good alignment, Helm is neutral, and Talos is evil. I was a dc Berserker/Cleric and chose to have a cleric stronghold.
