Here's my party right now, about to sign up with Gaelan Bayle. Any tips, hints or suggestions for the journey ahead?

CAROLYNE FALLS is a lvl 11 Archer, w/ the Heartseeker, Shadow Dragon Scale and Bracers of Archery

KORGAN is a lvl 11 Berserker w/ Red Dragon Scale, Belt of Inertial Barrier, and dual wielding an Axe +2 and Stonefire +3

VALYGAR is a lvl 11 Stalker w/ Family Armor, Vhailor's Helm, and dual wielding Family Blade and Katana +1

JAHEIRA is a lvl 9/12 Fighter/Druid w/ Delver's Plate +2, Blackblood, a Sling +3, and a bunch of Dragon Items: Shield, Helm..

YOSHIMO is a lvl 14 Bounty Hunter w/ his Katana +1, the Night's Gift +5 Leathers, & Tansheron's Short Bow

JAN JANSEN is a lvl 10/11 Illusionist/Thief w/ the Rings of Wizardry & Acuity, the Short Sword of Backstabbing, & the Robe of Vecna

Any suggestions or general points to make? Looking for some opinions before I dive into Chapters 3 and 4..

 

go complete all the side quest....
will get you few more levels.....

 

Heh, you're like me. I do all of the quests before I sign up as well. Are you planning on dumping Jan for Imoen once you get to spellhold?

 

No way! Jan is the best thief and the best mage in my party (he's now 11th level in both, after I signed up with Aran). To let him go would be a crime!

Dump Yoshimo for Imoen, because I *have* to dump him anyways.

 

Illusionist/Thiefs are really powerful characters indeed. Go for it Black Rose, you have the full support of me. May the gods shine on you upon your path.

Aran's first quest was easy as pie - *one* vampire? Give me a break! Korgan & Valygar chopped him up quite nicely.

Yeah I know, and he dosen't even cast spells! Actually, I think that other one who casts spells is harder, but not by much. Second time around is even easier, especially if you picked Drizzt.

 

I'd personally dump either Korgan or Valygar for Minsc myself. He's a better fighter than Valygar, and is not EVIL like Korgan.

One vampire, heh heh...Just wait till Chapter 6, heh heh...

 

Korgan is the best fighter in the game, so just keep him instead of Minsc!

 

I don't think he should replace any member of his party.
In fact if he would go for such a thing, the class he is lacking of is a good mage and not fighter.

But in fact, even that is irrelevant.

I know my party's a little weak spellwise, but my brute force might balance that out. Vhailor's Helm was a big purchase and I'm hoping that will benefit my overall striking power. Also I will add Imoen to my party later and get her up to date spellwise.

~80-85% done de'Arnise Hold, just need to finish the Flail of Ages and clear out the cellar.. Korgan's now dual wielding Stonefire and Frostreaver.. *his axe be bloody ready!!!*

You CAN get all three of them, the shadow thiefs, Drizit, and the knights. At one time.
Just htought Id let you know.

 

K.. de'Arnise is over and done with. Unfortunately, Nalia gave me a weak reward (~650 gold, bout 10k exp). Bah! I saved your bloody keep, noble!

Might do stronghold quests next.. Jaheira's oh so close to becoming a lvl 10 fighter.

Also, if you happen to be a cleric, you can enlist the aid of one of the three temples in the Temple District to help you out with Bohdi.

 

We are rarin' to clear out the vamp lair, but still know our limits. So the group went on a little hacking and slashing in the Temple and Bridge districts.

Now Valygar has Celestial Fury and the Horn of Valhalla was recieved - woohoo! Shangalar and the Elemental Lich will fall next - I swear it!
