Mod that allows you to be the mayor of your own town.

I don't even know if this is possible but, I think I would be pretty neat if you could hire a few builders and get a land deed and start building a small village/town, where you could directly/indirectly affect what goes on, such as random monster raids on the town, taxes, mercenaries, a few side quests, greedy nobles(ie anything that you could expect from a town in Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows Of Amn)

What about something like a stronghold quest only your stronghold is the town, like a mod that lets you take over trademeet or immsvale or something. I'd think having a modder make up an entirely new town would be a bit much?

I know it might seem like a bit much, but I'm sure a dedicated modder would be able to do it if it is indeed possible.

I'm thinking that with the land deed and builders you can spend your own money to further progress your town, building churches, inns, houses, etc etc.

The buildings would be expensive, but it would be fun, god knows we all have extra money halfway through the game and nothing to spend it on.

i've always been fascinated with building your own towns in games, I loved it in morrowind, even though you couldn't make that many towns.

And if you could hire mercenaries to defend your town while you were away from monster raids would be awesome. Otherwise, without the defenders you'd leave for underdark and when you get back your whole town is ransacked, with ogres and kobolds taking residence in the damaged buildings.

Anyways, I know it would take a LOT of time, but it would make an already awesome game, so much cooler.

Also, can someone make a mod for Zombies? I want some zombie's in this game, of varying difficulty, and mass amounts of them, well atleast 4--10 at a time.

Anyways, If any scripters/modders pay any heed to my mad rantings, then props to you, and if you take the time to actually develope these sort of things... Well... I can't describe it in words, but the least I can do is say, "THANK YOU!"

Well, you could make many different kind of maps to correspond the choices you make, and then automatically transfer the character there... But it could be interesting.

Of zombies, I don't think that would be difficult, if battles are all you want. I think someone with spare time and decent skills at modding could manage to edit and add new enemies in one evening.

Your idea sounds a lot similar to the NWN2 Stronghold idea. From a storyline point of view, it is totally out of place.

    Good one kuemper.

    Lol, never played Settlers.

Anyways, I would think that the Town Mod would be so freaken cool, like you could check back at certain stages of the building and the houses would be like half built and crap.

As for the Zombie's they could just use the Uncle Lester as a Avater and maybe change the colors.

I would also enjoy a Zombie quest XD

And just what would this quest consist of? Zombies weren't any problem way back in BG, BG2 characters would mop the podium with them. As to making zombies more powerful, I just don't see any non-cheesy way to do it. Maybe for a humorous breakdown, but nothing more than that.

As for the whole city building idea: I'm not sure I like it. What would become out of this? A series of mini games, when you first must get the resources to the buidling site, then defend the workers while they are building the town, than you'll be playing mayor of the city... Nah, I don't like it at all.

Mass swarms of zombies could be troublesome, especially if they had a poison attack.

And for the city building, well... Everyone has their own opinion so I won't discredit you.

    Perhaps some "Improved" Zombies.

By Improved I mean like a full party of undead adventurers fully equiped with undroppable versions of the best gear in SoA (and a ToB version if you have it).

Or mabey some of your old enemies coming back to haunt you. make the encounter late in the game and have several of the main enemies you killed be raised by a new sub boss. (kinda like Melanthium from the planar Sphere Mod) People like oh say.... Firkragg, The Unseeing Eye, Mae'Var, Tranor the Hatchetman and company, ect... only more powerful and with undead attributes, perhaps add an IF THEN script to the mod so only the ones you have killed show up at the battle.

Yup, and they were what 65xp a piece?

I remember IWD having some pretty challenging undead, with certain zombies or zombie lords having damage reduction etc, didn't help them much from turning though. A well equipped cleric can pretty much wipe the floor with most undead in the game without much difficulty, amulet of power takes away your initial fears of vampires and level drain and if sanctuary and turning don't chunk it then buffs and mace of disruption or sunfire, false dawn etc certainly will. A lich is definately tougher, but not by much.

I want a mod that allows you to have a pony. I want a pony! You can come back every so often and feed him/her oats. It would be great!

Zombie pony would be a bonus. I think the rotting corpse smell would be offset by the fact that it would never tire. I wouldn't expect to just get this noble steed for nothing. I'd totally do a quest to find it. Anybody can do that for me? Zombie pony, please?

How about a whole town full of zombie ponies?

    ===================================

Actually, I like the idea of a town that expands and grows along with you. I've thought for a long time that such a mod would be pretty interesting.
