Just be reading the fun debate that developed on the 'Johnny Bravo Voice Pack Available' post and it got me thinking.

What would everyone like to see in a magic weapon? Maybe we could put the best idea to dear old Cromwell the Dwarf and have one knocked up.

    My ideas are:

The mighty sword of silence: automatically casts deafness on the wielder when Aerie, Jaheira or Anomen start winging about something. Also gives you +5 charisma so you can cheer them up a bit.

The temporal staff of forgetfullness: increases wisdom by 4 and automatically sends you back in time to a point just before you got killed and saves your game for you.

The clever club of shifting: increases dexterity by 2 and automatically changes your weapon profencies so that you can make use of the great new weapon you've just killed a blumming great dragon for rather than just flogging it at the next shop because you thought a long sword proficiency was a good idea.

The bow of enlightenment: raises you character inteligence by 10 and transforms automatically into a staff when you get into melee thus avoiding the 'oh that's why he's getting a good kicking' feeling.

The Flail of Waiting Ages: a magical flail that will automatically cure my save game bug (oh I know I keep going on about it).

Surely someone can do better than my limp ideas.

I like the 'Bow of Enlightenment' idea!
I sure could use an extra +10 intelligence, since I have only 3!

How's about a Wand of Frost that does what it says it does. Or a Horn of Blasting that doesn't kill your party. Or an Equlizer that was worth something. Or that limited wish Full Plate +2 that wasn't f*ckedup. Or maybe just that the Jaheria romance would actually work as intended!!

I have never used the horn of blasting...
I once lost it and now I don't know where it is, but it wasn't that powerful I understood...

Bracers of instant replacement- which transfer arrows/darts/bolts automatically to the appropriate slot from the backpack once you run out stopping your archer charging at the enemy with the cheap sword you thought he'd never use

  11. [IMG] My Horn of Blasting is lying on the ground somewhere in Underdark. It should not be used unless you are trying to reduce excessive hit points.

YEAH! I'm w/ ya Shura. I haven't yet tackled Order of the Radiant Heart, but I'm sure those items would be quite helpful.

I'd love a wand of bad attitude blasting. Anomen called my girl Ms. J a useless wench. The Bastard! So I cold cocked him (for 19 damage-love those monks). I would have preferred to fry his punk-ass though.

If Keldorn says she is, then she is! :D
BTW, this Horn of Blasting, doesn't it doe the same as the spell sunfire (they both kill enemies and partymembers. I think they're both pretty useless, but sunfire even more, because my mage is never so far away from another character that she can use the spell.
    Lowsy #$@$@$^&@#~! ;)

I've got a new one inspired by travelling w/ Jan Jansen.

+10 Gas Mask the easy breather. . . also known as Helm of Eternal Sweet Air.

After Jan and Uncle Spanky Stump's turnip beer bender, smoking turnip root, and satisfying the gnomish munchies w/ pot fulls of turnip and cabbage stew, my eyes are starting to water!

Good point, Jefe how could I forget about Jan and his 'excuse me, turnip reflex.'

I'v also though of a nw one after talking to my Familiar (see Feed the Rabbit):

Wand of Debatable Wisdom - once per day casts a flash of blindingly obvious advice. The level of the advise is inveresly proportional to your character's inteligence. (plays like the sword Lilarcor's). I suppose to give it some use, it could be an effective weapon again Mind Flairers eg. if they suck your brains with this equippped it actually does them harm.

Don't identify the horn, and you can sell it for a single gold piece. Take that SINGLE gp, and fling it at the side of Anomen's head. His as*sh*le level rises 5 points.

Why not have magic hats that aren't made of metal - mages deserve pointy hats to fill up that unused helmet slot. The same goes for thieves and hoods.

Mage's don't need to fill those slots, because they have their robe's. And the robe's of the good/neutral/evil archmagi already have one! ;)
Aerie can use Ion stones, wich are pretty useful I think (Some of them).

Oh, right - I didn't realise mages could wear ion stones on their heads btw I never got a robe of the archmagi in BG2 - I had Ecwin in the robe of Vecna - but in BG1 all you get is a hood, and that just isn't pointy enough for my wizards
