[IMG] Well, I've been looking all over the place and I can't seem to find any detailed information on the multiplayer aspect of Half Life 2! If anyone could show me a good place to look or just tell me here that would be great! I'd like 2 now how many players will be able to play in a multiplayer game(possible 128?). And if anyone has played the game, maybe you could tell me what you think of the game and if it's as good as it's supposed to be. Thanks in advance. :p

There is also Half Life 2: Deathmatch. But it is only available through Steam so you better have a broadband connection or forget about that. :(

Half-Life 2 deathmatch came out earlier this month and it's really good, but in my opinion, Counterstrike: Source is the superior game, as Half-Life 2 Deathmatch doesn't have the same variety of weapons as the original Half-Life Deathmatch (although the gravity gun is a nice touch).

Actually, you'd better have one broadband for the game and ANOTHER for Steam -it demands you to "validate" your game, remember? :shake:

Wirhe, one can validate through a 56k without problems.

I've tried playing HL2 deathmatch but I didn't like it at all. Small choice of wapons and everyone runs around throwing big stuff at you with the gravity gun. Can't say I like CS:S much either. I prefer CS.

Granted, the gravity gun is a powerhouse in the 2 maps that come with HL2 deathmatch, but in most of the fan-made maps, it really isn't a problem.

Most of the multiplayer goodness is yet to come...the Mod community is working on numerous mods, some of which will be badass indeed, others not so epic. For now, CS:S and HL2 DM are what is available for multiplayer, but don't worry, there will be more to come.

Source is great if you are good at it. If you are new to cs then you will probably hate it.

Source is easier for beginners then regular cs I suppose, depends on what servers you play in.

Counterstrike: Source has once again introduced "Spray and Pray" ;) meaning: Balance shifted more towards luck (CS 1.4 anyone?).

There is one badass mod called Garry's Mod. It's all about messing around with the physics of the game. Check out the pictures and comics posted on the forums there, too!
