viconia, anomen, spells and wisdom

Why does everyone say VIconia is the best cleric? She's weak and has a lame constitution (both of which can be fixed with belts or gauntlets or magic, I know), low hit points....

I went as far as level 16 or 17 in a game with them both, and Anomen (wisdom 16) had just as many spells as Vicky (wisdom 18)!
How's that work?

 

well because she has level 7 spells at level 14 or so, (which for me is about the time i enter the underdark) and i give her a hill giant str belt and with a sheilds i can get her defence to about -12 to -14 or so... only thing i dont like is her low hit points early on.

 

Just use Jaheira...
She's a great druid and a good fighter with the gauntlets of oger power (haven't got the belt of frost giant str. yet), a tower shield and a +3 club +3 acid damage...
She even has got quite a lot of hitpoints (around 80)

 

Jaheira is mad cool, but you need a Cleric in the party. You really can't make due without one {or two}. Druids, although very effective generally {I'm currently playing one in a table top game}, make poor healers, and to concentrate on healing takes away from her other strengths {summoning, fighting, etc}. I run with Aerie and Anomen...{I know, two of the most hated characters...but I have a weakness for the pretty innocent ones...and Anomen is just too good a cleric [don't forget the fighter levels]}....And Jaheira.

 

If you use Anomen for healing, you can't use him for fighting, that's the same as with jaheira.
And Jaheira can heal very good if I say so, not any better than others, but also not any worse!

 

I use everybody for attacking. For healing my guys 'n' gals wear rings of regeneration (combined with boots of speed), or just simply watch out that htey wont get hurt. (I must confess though, that most of my party members are pretty much hooked to the bottle.)

 

These are all very fine arguments weighing the pros and cons of Anomen & Jaheira over Viconia, but you're fogetting one thing:

VICONIA IS A HOTTIE!

The real question here was, although the idea of an armor clad body sinking into the muck is a good one, was if Wisdom is the most important feature for a cleric, how can Anomen have as many spells as Viconia???

 

Because Viconia is Evil and Anomen isn't
