My first question is if Wisdom does indeed have an effect on save v. spells (I know it doesn't have an effect on maximum spell level even though the manual says it should).

My second question is if racial bonuses are really implemented. I.E. do elves really have resistance to sleep and charm and bonuses with bows and long swords?

As far as I know for the racial bonuses like sleep or charm resistence, they are NOT implemented in the vanilla game, perhaps with some patch/mod they actually do function but I couldn'be 100 % sure.

    It does not.

BG2 Fixpack implements the sleep/charm resistances, yes. Some of the other bonuses exist already--elves get bonuses for long swords and all bows, IIRC.

According to an ancient thread on these boards, Elves get a bonus with any weapon with the basic shape of a sword and that can be wielded in one hand - i.e. longswords, shortswords, wakishazis, ninja-tos, katanas, daggers, scimitars and bastard swords.

Is there a mod out there that causes Wis to be implemented right? I thought Sorcerer's Place use to have a fix that made wisdom give bonuses or minuses on save v. spells, but I don't see it here any more.

I don't remember it, but nothing's been removed, so if it was here before, it's here still.
