    -Main Character
    -Korgan
    -Viconia
    -Edwin
    -Jan (He's not evil, but he sure talks to everyone!)
    -Minsc (The same goes fer him)

    This is my oppinion. :p

    Minsc is not really compatible with an evil party, given that he's CG, and he's got a few things against Edwin, but the dialogues would be great! :D

    Given enough time Minsc also comes to blows with Edwin...i think(unless you download the one little thing on SP that stops NPC's killing each other)I'd go with

    -Main Character(whatever you are)
    Korgan(decent fighter kind of annoying)
    Edwin(best mage hands down)
    Viconia(shes a cleric always usefull)
    Jan(if he doesnt annoy you hes the best and funniest guy in the world!but he doesn't get to steal boo without minsc....)
    Imoen(she seems important for the whole plot and everything)

    These are just a nice party if your evil but I'd suggjest changing it up Jaheira is always helpfull as a druid Cernd shapechange ability can be fun go with who you like and...as long as there not of good alignment they can fit and if you want to try out everybody go the neutral path then nobody loves ya nobody hates ya.....

    Isn't this a no-brainer? you don't exactly have much choice...

    Korgan
    Viconia
    Edwin
    + throw in some neutrals

    The only other option is a fallen Anomen, he gets real nasty when he fails his knighthood test.

    Stereo-

    These four characters form a solid core for an evil group:

    Korgan
    Viconia
    Edwin
    Jan (not evil, but complements the party well)

    and the fifth? well, it depends on your character. With Jan in the party, Yoshimo is not really needed. If you have a capable fighter, then I think any of the other neutral characters (Cernd, Jaheira, Haer'Dalis, or Anomen) would do, if not then you probably want Jaheira or Anomen, who have the highest potential for tanking IMO. Don't get me wrong; Cernd and HD can certainly rack up a body count, but both are very vulnerable due to low hit points and armor restrictions.

    There's a lot of interaction between Viconia, Edwin, Korgan, and Jan and the 4 of them alone should keep you entertained.

    If you want some comedy, have Minsc in your party for just a little while after you pick up Edwin, and especially during Edwin's scroll quest. It's very entertaining....

    Why play with 6 chars, when there are 3 evil npcs, so just play with them. here they are:

    Korgan=fighter
    Viconia=cleric
    Edwin=mage

    All you have to do to balance this out, is to make your main character a thief, if you don't like just being a thief, try a multi thief, such as a fighter/thief or thief/mage or even dual later.

    I personally would be an assassin or a fighter/thief.

    But if you really want 6 chars pick

    Korgan=fighter
    viconia=cleric
    edwin=mage
    haer dalis=bard
    Jan=thief/mage

    Then to balance this out make your main character a fighter class, i suggest a monk or a barbarian.

    Enjoy

    thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think im goint o go with a group made up of:

    Korgan
    viconia
    edwin
    Jan
    Minsc

    Admitedly im going to have to use the happy party script for it to work due to the fact you cant get the helm of opposite alighnment in SoA but i think im going to enjoy this.

    Thanks again
