    I presently have the 6 cd set of BG & TOTSC installed. I am getting frustrated with having to swap cd's every time I move from area to area. Can someone point me to a site or provide me with the info on what the minimum I have to copy over from the disks is? I believe this was listed on a site somewhere ages ago, but I can no longer find it. I'm really hoping I can just copy files from the disks and not have to do a complete uninstall and reinstall.
    TIA

    Well for one you can just do a full install...

    You can also just copy the cd's over to the harddrive, make folders named "cd2", "cd3", "cd4", and "cd5" in your bg install folder, and copy the content of each of them into the correct folder. Then edit baldur.ini there should be a list saying something like this:

    Code:
    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\
    CD1:=D:\CD1\
    CD2:=D:\CD2\
    CD3:=D:\CD3\
    CD4:=D:\CD4\
    CD5:=D:\CD5\
    CD6:=D:\CD6\

    Edit it to look like something like this (replace all paths and drive letters with whatever you got, just adding "typical" stuff really).

    Code:
    [Alias]
    HD0:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\
    CD1:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\CD1\;D:\CD1\
    CD2:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\CD2\;D:\CD2\
    CD3:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\CD3\;D:\CD3\
    CD4:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\CD4\;D:\CD4\
    CD5:=C:\program files\baldurs gate\CD5\;D:\CD5\
    CD6:=D:\CD6\

    Cd1 doesn't matter much (it only contains candlekeep and the two maps straight to the east, the road to candlekeep and the crossroads between Friendly arms inn and Beregost) so you can skip that one, same with cd6 (Tales of the swordcoast expantion) as you need to have it in your drive anyways to play the game.

    If you want to save additional space, you can delete the movie folders, saves up some space, but requires you to insert the cd's whenever the game wants to play a movie file (example first time you enter Friendly arm in or beregost).
