    Quick question:

Is it just me, or does stealth function differently in IWD than it does in BG2? What I'm referring to here is the tendency in IWD for the stealth button to be pressed, and nothing to happen for upwards of a minute- something I don't ever recall in BG2.

That's because the stealth skill is checked and re-checked every round. If you fail a stealth, you'll have to wait for the next round to make an attempt again.

It's annoying though. I totally know what you mean.

When I want my thief to scout out a room, I hit that button and just wait while my Bard's singing heals the party another 4-6 points.

Alright, its good to know I'm not the only one experiencing that. I must say, its a rather poor implementation.

Well it can be A LOT longer than a round. I think the implementation is bugged.

For example, if you loot a corpse or fire an arrow while stealthed, you get the out of stealth message, but the button is still outlined in red (rather than grey, when stealth has failed).

Then if you want to go into stealth again, you have to click on the button (even though it's red as if you had clicked on it). bad design.

Then, you wait not a round, but I suspect a full turn or more.

Yeah, the engine is very flaky with being able to track whether stealth has been broken. One thing you can try is, when it gets stupid like this, to simply select one of your weapons. This will break you out of stealth (even though you're not really in it) so you can go back into it normally.
