I don't know why, but I find this class very interesting. I've never tried one before.

I am trying to think of how to use them effectively.

    1) Can they use potions?
    2) Do missile attacks add to the spell failure ability?
    3) What's the duration on the spell failure ability?
    4) Other than Thief (and getting the HLA UAI), how do the other dual classes fare?
    5) How do they fare as single-classed characters? I think a Dwarven Wizard Slayer just sounds awesome.
    6) Can they wear rings (like the Ring of Regeneration or a Ring of Protection)?
    7) In ToB, can they use the Machine of Lum the Mad? What about the Deck of Many Things?
    8) In BG1 (tutu), can they use the stat-increasing tomes?

    TIA

Oh, final little question: Do you think they're a fun class? Give me your pros and cons. I realize this class is a bit unpopular, so I'd really only like the opinions on this last question to come from people who have played them before.

    1) Just healing potions and antidote.
    2) With "Wizard Slayers Cause Miscast Magic on Ranged Attacks" components from BG2 Fixpack yes, otherwise the answer is no.
    3) 30 sec
    6) No.
    7) They can use both.
    8) Yes.

I soloed a WS a while back. Was an interesting run-extremely tough(I only soloed SoA: ToB isn't that much fun to me).

I liked them. The mis-cast magic really helps against mages, you just have to make sure you target them early to get them out of the fight.

Tried it and liked it (a lot). You should dual wield weapons that grant extra attacks per turn so you maximize the miscast magic ability.

To state the obvious dualled to thief with UAI it gets even better (plus I love the Detect Illusions thing with a DC WS/T).

i've both soloed and party'ed with one and the are great fun, both dwarfs as i think they fit the class best.

the solo was dualed to a theif at some point (think lvl 13, not sure though).

but i will recommend a single classed WS as that was the most fun for me

I once tried a Wizard Slayer dualed to Druid solo just for kicks, because I figured Iron Skins and healing spells offset the WS disadvantages. The WS part was challenging because it was too easy to get hit. No armour, no healing and low level. Killing mages was fun though, the duration of the spell failure essentially lasted until the mage was dead. Once I dualled, I still got hit a lot so it wasn't much easier, but at least I can recover. I grand mastered and duel-wield clubs... I couldn't master scimitars. I thought was pretty challenging, I'm not a great player though.

But more importantly, the character lasted until the end of SoA! Meaning he kept my interest up rather than getting dumped in Chapter 3 like most of them ;)
