[IMG] Hey, just wondering whether or not I should go and try the Planar Sphere quest yet because my guys are still a little low in level and I've never done this quest before. I've completed the Umar Hills and the Windspear Hills along with Nalia's quest, the slave stockade, and that's about all the main ones I've done. Thanks.

Here's an idea: Why don't you save the game just before you go in, then see how it goes. If it's too tough for you, just restore and come back later.

If you've already done all those other quests then you should be more than ready for the planar sphere.

Buy 2 Ring of Air Control at the Adventures Mart because there are 2 Air Elementals, which can be charmed easily.
I did this quest with my solo assassin, and focused on the main evil monsters. I was hiding in the shadow. I backstabbed the person who holds the keys, and charmed one elemental to destroy the other one. Meanwhile I killed the Master. Celestial Fury did it's stuff. :) I used some fierce potion ( I bought them in the sewers ).
I tried not to kill people wearing colar because I think they are only slaves.
This is one of the best quest in the game you can get a Boots of Speed and a Bracers of Weapon Skills.

    *some spoilers*

Valer - you're referring to the Planar Prison quest. That's where you get the boots of speed and bracers of weapon skill.

The Planar Sphere quest is hard or tricky at the beginning against the darksun halflings, then very hard against the tanar'ii in the abyss (?). You can make it easier by stopping at one tanar'ii heart, but it's fun to whack them all for the xp.

I can't remember all the treasure, but Tolgerias' Ring of the Ram was very good, and Lavok has a wizard's Ring of Acuity.

[IMG] Oh! Sorry, I was confused!

Remember I did this quest last before going to the spellhold. It's very hard.
Once, I completed my golem, and that opened some doors, but left a Greater Beholder alive. And that was standing behind the opened door. I were not able to hurt/attack it, because the door activated all the time.
I had to use a cheat; I created some invisible stalker scroll and those killed the beholder. I hate cheats but, I had no other choice...

Incidentally, Valer, if you have CF then you've done the guarded compound. And if you've done the guarded compound solo, you're ready for whatever Chapter 2 can throw at you...Firkraag, Thax'llwhatchamadoodle, and certainly the planar sphere. (Though soloing through the 30 or so critters you need to kill in the PS, not to mention the 3 badass demons, can't be that easy for a solo player, particularly a solo assassin...given that the demons don't seem to give a patoot about your hiding in shadows..)

Gonzano: sorry i don't understand you. And I don't understand what is a relation in the CF and levels, Firkraag etc, and an opened door, which covers the monster...

He's saying that if your "tuff enuff" to do the guarded compound going solo, then your "tuff enuff" to do any of the chapter 2 quests.

Incidentally, your not meant to fight that beholder..... The Guardian Golem does it for you, it should then disappear.

    Guardian Golem doesn't disappear.

If you get P. Sphere for your stronghold, keep that golem near entrance - there will be something for him to do actually later.
    But... :-X

    Clarification:

The Beholder dies, thus should disappear. NOT as Extremist points out from his post above the Golem.

We were in fact talking about the Beholder, but alas my writing was not clear on that point.

Erm, beholder doesn't instantly disappear. Only if you exit the area or press rest.

Otherwise you'll see it's remnants on the ground :p

But in case of mine, the golem did NOT killed the Beholder, which was standing behind the opened door... that was my problem. So, it REALY was a problem!
    :)
