I don't know if this had ever been asked before but Can familiars disarm traps? I know several can detect them but can any of them actually disarm them?

[IMG] No, AFAIK no familiar can disarm traps. That would have made the thief class completely useless. :p

Now, I am not really sure about this but I think one or two of them have this ability. I think its the rabid and the ferret. Or is it the cat? Oi.

IIRC it was the cat (one of my Jesters had one)! But its disarm trap-ability was near useless. Never got the job done.

No, they can't, they can still spot trap though.

Well... You could always walk them into them. But then you'd suffer too. Bah.

Whenever I solo, I always just walk through the traps. The gnarliest trap in the game will bring you down about 70 points, IIRC, and that's the blob in Rayic Geathras (sp?) room. There aren't any traps that will kill you outright, I think.

Not true. When solo'ing, there are a couple of traps that cast maze on you, at least one of which is in the Sahuagin City (imp area with the "give the appropriate item to the appropriate guy" puzzle). Maze is a death sentence on solo, so I had to be careful doing that area in my "Hardcore" game.

in the bridge area there are a couple of flesh to stone traps on some doers. a funny thing is, if yuo let valygar be turned to stone you can get his body, give it to the cowleds and then turn valygar back to flesh again using a stone to flesh scroll.

Maze is a death sentance? You're not talking about imprisonment, are you? I realize that anything that alters the MC (Stone, death, etc) but can later be reversed still ends the game. But I didn't think Maze did that.

[IMG] Imprisonment spell can be disabled by using the Freedom Spell. Your characters will be returned.

But Valdek, how do you expect to cast a spell while Imprisoned? ;)

In no game I have ever played have it been possible to let summoned creatures set off traps, they just walk right over them without anything happening. I have read about a lot of people saying they use summons and I am starting to wonder if htere is anything wrong with my copy?

Me too! Summoned creatures never work on traps for me. I smell something... and it's not me.

    @ MC - You said:

If you are playing solo, then maze is equal to death (I think charm has the same impact). Obviously, imprisonment is the same as well.

Well, only because someone will have probably killed you off by the time the charm wears off. ;)

No, whenever you lose control over your character except for confusion and stun effects it is game over in a solo game(maze, charm, imprisonment and so on) .
