Elven Lich Trauma

    For some reason, when I get all the parts to the astrolabe in the hand complex and give them to
    the guy that repairs the machine, nothing much happens. He fixes it, I get
    the XP's and the screen goes dark for a second (like it does when you make the party go to sleep) and then I can't talk to him
    or to the lich. Nothing seems to fix it. They just don't react when I try to talk to them. I cannot get to the next part of the game.

    Ever heard of this happening? I haven't done anything except install the
    official patch and tweak my characters some with DaleKeeper.

    Well, it did happen to me. And I didn't use Dalekeeper. Just plain patched vanilla.

    Reload didn't work.

    I went down, rested, and went up again. And then he would talk.

    But you probably tried that?

    Yes, I did try going down and resting. He still couldn't do anything for me and now I can't get to the next level/chapter. Darn aggravating to go this far and not be able to go further.

    I haven't played this game in a few years and I started with this adventure and now that I think of it, this may be why I quit playing it the first time.

    Well, I guess I was wrong about not finishing the game. I looked at the next few levels here in the walkthrough and I do remember playing through them years ago.

    I'm stumped. I really don't want to start all over again. I tried reinstalling the game and that did nothing.
